One Direction Star Said He Was Having a 'Lovely Day' Before His Heartbreaking Death: Report

It's a sobering reminder of how fleeting life can be.

Just hours before One Direction member Liam Payne, 31, tragically passed away on Wednesday, he shared a Snapchat video showing him and his girlfriend, Kate Cassidy, enjoying a quiet moment together at the breakfast table.

“Lovely day here in Argentina,” Payne remarked in the brief clip.

According to the New York Post, Payne's last social media post appeared to be him channeling "Forrest Gump."

“Halloween costume idea: forest gump,” he captioned the post on Snapchat.

The Snapchat story, which also included other snapshots of him and Cassidy, has since been removed, as reported by the New York Post.

The timing of the Snapchat photos shared on Wednesday remains uncertain.

TMZ reported that Payne tragically died later that evening after falling from the third floor of the hotel where he had been staying.

The singer had been on vacation with his girlfriend in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

While Cassidy had left Argentina on Monday, Payne stayed behind and checked into the CasaSur Palermo Hotel, where the fatal incident took place.

Witnesses say Payne was acting erratically in the hotel lobby before the tragic fall, even smashing his laptop before hotel staff escorted him back to his room.

It’s unclear whether Payne's death was intentional, TMZ noted, but the singer had long struggled with issues related to alcohol and prescription drug dependency.

Payne first rose to fame at the age of 16 when he joined the boy band One Direction in 2010. The group became a global sensation before going their separate ways in 2015, with Payne serving as one of the band’s primary songwriters, according to TMZ.
