Palace Issues Alarming Statement On Kate Middleton

Kensington Palace issued a statement on Thursday addressing the persistent speculations surrounding the Princess of Wales' absence from public engagements, which has fueled various conspiracy theories.

"We were very clear from the outset that the Princess of Wales was out until after Easter and Kensington Palace would only be providing updates when something was significant," a representative for Princess Kate emphasized. They reassured the public that the 42-year-old princess is "doing well."

Prince William's unannounced absence from his late godfather's funeral on Tuesday triggered online concerns for Princess Kate's well-being, leading to the emergence of conspiracy theories. Despite assurances on Tuesday that Kate "continues to be doing well" in her recovery, worries persisted.

"It is sensible to take the time," a source close to the royal household told PEOPLE. "That is a great example to the rest of us," they added, emphasizing the importance of allowing adequate time for recovery. The source encouraged everyone to learn from this and not rush back to work immediately. Taking time to heal fully is in everyone's best interests.

In early February, a source informed the Daily Mail that Catherine was healing nicely and looking forward to a change of scene in Norfolk with William and their children. The palace has consistently maintained Kate's desire for her personal medical information to remain private.

According to Harper’s BAZAAR, updates on Kate's progress have been limited since her surgery. A statement on January 29 confirmed her discharge from the London Clinic, expressing gratitude to the medical team. A February 27 update from a source close to the family reported that Kate's recovery was still progressing well.

The princess's prolonged absence has fueled online speculation, with users on various platforms developing unsubstantiated claims ranging from jokes about her working at a Willy Wonka pop-up to theories suggesting she is in a coma.

The royal family is currently grappling with health concerns, including worries about King Charles III's cancer condition, described as potentially "more dangerous than we have been led to believe." Charles revealed his cancer diagnosis after being admitted to the hospital for an ailment related to an enlarged prostate. The exact type of cancer remains undisclosed to the public.
