‘PATHETIC’: Harris Criticized for Brief FEMA Visit Post-Hurricane

Former President Donald Trump’s campaign took aim at Vice President Kamala Harris for what they described as a rushed visit to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) headquarters following the destruction caused by Hurricane Helene.

The Trump campaign shared video snippets from Harris’ visit, claiming it lasted merely five minutes before she “bolted” from the agency without addressing questions from reporters.

"Kamala, who just returned from her San Francisco fundraisers, reads directly from a pre-written script as she tells Hurricane Helene victims they have her ‘support,’" noted a post by the Trump War Room account on X, accompanied by a short clip of Harris.

“After returning from her glitzy fundraisers in San Francisco, Kamala Harris showed up to the FEMA headquarters, spent less than five minutes reading off a script about hurricane relief, and then bolted before the press could ask her questions,” the Trump campaign added in another post.

An account titled “Insurrection Barbie” shared a video of reporters attempting to question Harris, which she ignored. “Imagine voting for this,” the post remarked.

Many X users expressed their dissatisfaction with Harris' actions.

In contrast, other users highlighted former President Trump’s response to Hurricane Helene, noting that he personally visited some of the areas hardest hit by the storm and interacted with the affected communities.

Trump toured devastated regions on Monday and initiated a $1 million GoFundMe campaign to assist the storm victims.

“With so many across the Southeastern U.S. facing challenges after the storm, President Trump is on the ground in communities to see the aftermath firsthand,” the campaign page reads. “All donations will be directed to help those most affected by Hurricane Helene. Any level of generosity will go a long way for your fellow Americans who are suffering.”

Among the notable donors, former U.S. Senator Kelly Loeffler, R-Ga., contributed $500,000. Bass Pro Shop, famous for its outdoor-themed stores, donated $100,000, according to Fox News. The outlet also mentioned that UFC CEO Dana White, a close Trump ally, gave $100,000.

“Hedge fund billionaire William Ackman also pledged $100,000. Other donors included Kid Rock, U.S. Senator John Barrasso, R-Wy., and personal injury lawyer Dan Newlin,” the report added.
