Pelosi Seen On House Floor Using A Walker While Recovering From Fall
Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, 84, was seen using a walker for support during her return to Congress this week, marking a shift from her signature high heels.
Her appearance follows a significant injury sustained less than a month ago during an official visit to Luxembourg. While at the Grand Ducal Palace, Pelosi fell on a marble staircase, resulting in a fractured hip that required emergency surgery.
Despite the injury, Pelosi has made a swift recovery and returned to Capitol Hill, demonstrating her determination to remain engaged in her role despite physical setbacks.
Ian Krager, Pelosi’s spokesperson, previously mentioned that she received “excellent treatment” from medical professionals. However, the demanding recovery process has visibly impacted her.
Known for her characteristic stilettos, Pelosi has now opted for more practical footwear. In recent months, she has also continued her criticism of former President Donald Trump, asserting that he is “unwell” to lead the nation.
Pelosi remains steadfast in her position as a key figure in the Democratic Party. Her return to the House coincided with the formal certification of the 2024 presidential election results, where Vice President Kamala Harris officially acknowledged Donald J. Trump’s second-term victory.
Pelosi’s recent injury highlights growing concerns about the health and fitness of Washington’s aging political leadership. This incident occurred just days after Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY), 82, sprained his wrist during a private Senate lunch.
Meanwhile, Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) has been vocal in pushing for the rapid confirmation of President-elect Donald Trump’s Cabinet nominees. Speaking to Fox News, Graham emphasized the urgency, noting that the country is “at war” while criticizing immigration policies.
Graham argued that all of Trump’s Cabinet picks should be confirmed by the end of January or, at the latest, February, during an appearance on Sunday Morning Futures.
During a discussion about national security with host Maria Bartiromo, Graham warned that any delay in securing the border “equals danger.”
Bartiromo highlighted a meeting between Trump and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni at Mar-a-Lago, suggesting the two likely discussed the “threats” posed by mass migration and their shared concerns over border security.
She asked Graham: “What are what are your thoughts here in terms of the terrorism element and getting President Trump’s national security team in place? Do you have confidence that all of his Cabinet nominees will be confirmed?”
“Yeah, I do. And I want to do them sooner rather than later,” Graham responded.
“When President Trump left office, we had the most secure border in American history. The caliphate was destroyed. ISIS was destroyed, and Iran was in a box, we killed Suleimani, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard leader,” he continued.
“The last four years have been a friggin’ disaster. They rolled back every policy that worked on the border. They went back into the Iran nuclear agreement, giving the ayatollah hundreds of millions of dollars to use for terrorism,” Graham added.

At this point, Bartiromo interjected to press further on the timeline for confirming Trump’s Cabinet picks.
“Do them quick. Get them all done in January – February. We need our team on the field. We need an FBI director. We need an attorney general. We need them all. Get it done. We’ve got to get it done. We’re under attack here. We’re at war,” Graham replied, affirming his plan to vote for all of Trump’s nominees.
“Let’s get it done! We’re under siege here,” he reiterated.
