Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was seen having difficulty walking toward a waiting van in a video clip shared online Thursday.
At 84, Pelosi has faced mobility challenges following a fall during an overseas trip last year. While in Luxembourg with other members of Congress, she broke her hip, requiring hip replacement surgery and a hospital stay at a U.S. military base in Germany before returning home.
Although her staff has maintained that she is "recovering well," the footage has sparked renewed debate about the age of lawmakers and the potential need for term or age limits in Congress.

The viral clip of Pelosi comes as reports emerge of another high-profile fall—this time involving former Senate GOP leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.). According to sources, McConnell recently lost his balance while descending a short flight of stairs in the Senate chamber on his way to lunch.
Observers online have drawn comparisons between Pelosi, McConnell, and the late Sen. Dianne Feinstein, who remained in office until her passing, despite significant cognitive decline.
"Congress and the senate have become senior living facilities," remarked former Missouri Secretary of State candidate Valentina Gomez on X.
Another user added, "These elders just don’t have enough sense to know when to quit."
Earlier this week, McConnell was spotted using a wheelchair following his fall, as reported by Express US.
"Fox confirms. McConnell falls down Senate stairs after voting to confirm Scott Turner as HUD Secretary. Unclear about injuries. But Fox is told he appears to be ok. McConnell was helped up by Sens. Steve Daines (R-MT) and Markwayne Mullin (R-OK)," tweeted Fox News congressional correspondent Chad Pergram.
McConnell’s office clarified that, due to lingering effects of childhood polio, he was using a wheelchair "purely as a precautionary measure."
"Senator McConnell is fine," a spokesperson stated. "The lingering effects of polio in his left leg will not disrupt his regular schedule of work."
Sen. Steve Daines (R-Mont.), who witnessed the fall, said, "I think he just slipped on the steps. I was right behind him and helped him get back up, and he walked on his own power to lunch."
Despite initially walking unaided, McConnell was later seen using a wheelchair upon returning to the venue.
McConnell stepped down as Senate Republican leader earlier this year after multiple health-related incidents. In December, he fell again in the Capitol building following a lunch with colleagues, suffering minor injuries including a wrist sprain.
Last year, McConnell dismissed speculation about leaving office, affirming his commitment to opposing what he described as the GOP’s "isolationist movement." Some interpreted this as criticism of President-elect Donald Trump and his incoming administration.
In an interview with WHAS radio host Terry Meiners, McConnell reaffirmed his stance, stating, "I’m not leaving the Senate." He emphasized his dedication to countering efforts within his party to scale back U.S. support for allies like Israel and Ukraine.
"I’m particularly involved in actually fighting back against the isolationist movement in my own party and so many others as well," he added.
