Photos Come Back to Haunt Kamala Harris’ VP Pick

Photos began circulating on social media this week after Vice President Kamala Harris announced her choice of Minnesota's left-wing governor, Tim Walz, as her running mate.

Social media users pointed out that Walz stood by and did nothing as riots, sparked by the death of George Floyd, engulfed Minneapolis, one of the state's largest cities. Minneapolis became the epicenter of the BLM-inspired unrest that spread across the country, resulting in death, destruction, and billions in damage.

“This is the image that defines Tim Walz,” conservative commentator Matt Walsh wrote on X, alongside a photo of a Minneapolis police station on fire.

“During the Floyd riots, he allowed a mob of thugs to burn a police station to the ground right in the middle of Minneapolis. Everything you need to know about him can be seen here. A thousand words, as they say,” Walsh added.

The Libs of TikTok account, with 3.3 million followers, also criticized Walz, posting side-by-side photos of the destruction along with his quotes of encouragement. “He ignited and presided over the destruction and chaos,” the post stated.

Sen. Tim Cotton (R-Ark.) echoed this sentiment on X.

“Tim Walz is a perfect choice for Kamala Harris. He let BLM rioters, arsonists, and looters rampage through his state and she encouraged donations to the bail fund for the few who were arrested,” he wrote, including a photo of a burning building.

On “Fox & Friends” following the announcement, Cotton elaborated on Walz’s radical positions.

“The top of the ticket is what really matters. Kamala Harris’s choice of Tim Walz reinforces what we already knew: that she’s a dangerous San Francisco liberal. Just consider during the BLM riots in 2020, Tim Walz allowed rioters and arsonists and looters to rampage through Minneapolis. Kamala Harris then turned around and encouraged contributions for the bail fund for the few that were actually arrested."

"Kamala Harris has said she wants to decriminalize illegal immigration and stands up for illegal aliens and fights for their rights. Tim Walz has turned his state into a sanctuary state where violent illegal felons…he’s given driver’s licenses to illegal aliens, he’s given college tuition to illegal aliens,” Cotton continued. “Kamala Harris is a San Francisco liberal and Tim Walz is a self-professed socialist. He says that one person’s socialism is another person’s neighborliness. So the American people are gonna make their decision based on Kamala Harris’s dangerous record but Tim Walz simply exposes that record once again."

“My in-laws live in Minnesota. The only thing they’re happy about is that maybe this means now they’ll get rid of their failed governor. But it’ll be even worse for all of us because the Harris-Walz record shows what a disaster they would be in the White House. It confirms again that they will be governing from the far left if they get into the White House. It would mean higher taxes, more inflation, more crime, more chaos at the border and more war and chaos around the world,” he added.

Ohio Sen. JD Vance, the Republican vice-presidential candidate and running mate of former President Trump, commented on Walz’s 2020 record Tuesday, calling his addition to the Democrat ticket “an interesting tag team.”

“If we remember the rioting in the summer of 2020, Tim Walz was the guy who let rioters burn down Minneapolis,” he said. “And then Kamala Harris was the one who bailed the rioters out of jail.”
