Poll Workers Find Tabulator Machine Left Open, 30K Ballots Could Have Been Compromised in Key Swing State

Poll workers in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, are now reviewing approximately 30,000 absentee ballots that might have been at risk on Tuesday. The issue arose after doors on a tabulating machine were found left open, potentially exposing these ballots for an undetermined period.

City representative Jeff Fleming, along with other officials, expressed confidence that no ballots were “tampered with in any way.” Fleming also noted that a careful re-evaluation will be conducted to confirm that every vote is accurately counted.

“There have been extensive discussions with election officials here in consultation with people in Madison and our attorneys, and they said, let’s make sure there’s absolutely no question, and so that part of the process will be redone,” Fleming explained.
