Priceless Moment: Trump’s “Resignation Letter” to McDonald’s Unveiled to the Public

On Wednesday, Donald Trump Jr. shared a playful letter on social media, supposedly addressed to the McDonald’s Corporation and humorously signed by “Donald Trump.”

The mock resignation letter, which Trump Jr. posted on Instagram, was directed to the “Management at McDonald’s.”

“Please accept this letter as formal notice of my resignation from my position at McDonald’s, effective Monday, January 20, 2025,” Trump purportedly wrote.

With Trump’s signature at the bottom, the letter went on to express thanks to McDonald’s for various “opportunities” and “lessons learned.”

“I want to thank [McDonald’s] for the opportunity to be part of such an iconic American brand,” it stated. “The experience has been invaluable, and I am grateful for the skills I’ve developed, which I believe will serve me well in future endeavors.”

Trump’s letter also expressed his commitment to making the transition as smooth as possible, saying, “I am committed to ensuring a smooth transition during my remaining time here. Please let me know how I can assist in finding and training my replacement, or in any other capacity to help maintain the high standards of service at our location.”

The letter was signed with “45-47” following Trump’s signature, closing with, “Thank you again for everything. I look forward to my next adventure, but I leave with fond memories of my time at McDonald’s.”

This humorous “resignation letter” is a callback to Trump’s memorable visit to a McDonald’s in Pennsylvania on October 20, where he wore a red tie and apron, served fries, and even worked the drive-through, adding a touch of humor to his campaign.

During this visit, Trump remarked to reporters, “I’ll tell you what. It’s a great franchise. It’s a great company… look at the crowd over there. Look at how happy everyone is. They’re happy because they want hope.”

He added, “I’ve now worked for 15 minutes more than Kamala.”

The playful appearance was in response to Vice President Kamala Harris’s statement that she worked at McDonald’s in 1983, as reported by the New York Post. Trump’s team has since highlighted that Harris’s 1987 resume reportedly did not mention her having worked at McDonald’s.
