Report: Trump Enlists RFK Jr. to Assist in Selecting New Administration Officials

Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the former Independent presidential candidate who recently endorsed Donald Trump after exiting the race, revealed on Tuesday that Trump has asked him to assist in choosing officials for a potential new administration if Trump wins the presidency again.

Speaking with independent journalist Tucker Carlson, Kennedy was asked about his plans “from now until election day” following his endorsement of Trump. Kennedy responded, “I’m gonna work to get him elected, and, you know, I’m working with the campaign. We’re working on policy issues together.”

“I’ve been asked to go on to the transition team and, you know, to help pick the pick who will be running the government, and I’m looking forward to that,” Kennedy continued, adding, “I’m gonna fight. I don’t know what would happen to me if we lose.”

When Carlson questioned, “What happens, if he loses, to you?” Kennedy replied, “I never really think about that. What I think is, okay, here’s what I gotta do today, and you know, get up every day and say, ‘Reporting for duty, sir,’ and then go do that.”

He elaborated further: “You know, nothing’s a crisis, everything’s a task, right? So that’s what I’m gonna be. Kind of a happy warrior. I know what I have to do, so I’m gonna do it.”

During the same interview, Kennedy shared that he would be interested in serving as Trump’s CIA director but expressed doubts about his ability to be confirmed by the Senate.

Asked by Carlson if he would accept the role, Kennedy replied, “Yes, I would, but I would never get Senate confirmation. As you know, the intelligence agencies are protected by very, very powerful committees in the Senate and the House that are all read into the project, and the people who serve on those committees are people who would, you know, they would not—they’re safeguarding that directorship, and I would be very, very dangerous for those committees.”

In a related development, a federal judge recently ruled that Kennedy can continue his lawsuit against the Biden administration, accusing it of pressuring social media platforms to censor content from his organization, Children’s Health Defense, which focuses on vaccine safety concerns.

“The Court finds that Kennedy is likely to succeed on his claim that suppression of content posted was caused by actions of Government Defendants, and there is a substantial risk that he will suffer similar injury in the near future,” U.S. District Judge Terry Doughty said in his decision.

The lawsuit contends that the government coerced platforms like Facebook, X, and YouTube into removing content it labeled as misinformation.

Children’s Health Defense, founded by Kennedy, states its mission as “ending childhood health epidemics by eliminating toxic exposure.” Critics, however, often label the group as “anti-vaccine,” while the CDC continues to uphold that vaccines, including those for COVID-19, are “safe and effective,” according to Fox News.

Following the ruling, CHD general counsel Kim Rosenberg said, “Judge Terry Doughty carefully and clearly analyzed the law and facts and applied the framework from the U.S. Supreme Court’s recent decision in Murthy v. Missouri regarding standing. The court also firmly found in plaintiffs’ favor that plaintiffs had not waived—and indeed had affirmatively raised—direct censorship claims in addition to listener claims.”

The lawsuit Murphy v. Missouri, filed by Republican attorneys general from Missouri and Louisiana, also alleges that the Biden administration pushed social media companies to censor specific content.
