RFK Jr: DNC Trying To Keep Me On Ballots, They Don’t Trust Their Nominee

Robert F. Kennedy Jr., a former independent presidential candidate, has made headlines this week after aligning with former President Donald Trump.

In an interview on Fox News Channel’s "The Story," RFK Jr. asserted that the Democratic National Committee's (DNC) legal efforts to keep him on the ballot reveal a lack of confidence in their higher-profile candidates, describing their actions as "fundamentally undemocratic."

Below is a summary of the conversation:

MacCALLUM: "Robert F. Kennedy Jr., former independent presidential candidate and now part of the transition team. Mr. Kennedy, thank you for joining us. You’ve been observing the situation. What is your response to President Biden’s stance on Hamas, particularly after hearing Karine Jean-Pierre reiterate that Hamas is the clear enemy? Do you agree that President Biden has been assertive enough on this issue?"

Kennedy JR.: "I understand the position of the Israeli government and the IDF, especially regarding recent restraint in places like Rafah. However, I’m not fully aware of the ongoing negotiations in Egypt or the role Qatar is playing. Qatar has been a significant funder of Hamas terrorism, and I’m unsure what kind of pressure we’re applying on them."

MacCALLUM: "Right. We saw the tragic loss of an American citizen over the weekend. Some felt President Biden’s response was rather muted, with a simple paper statement. Let’s turn to the election, which is around nine weeks away. Since you endorsed former President Trump, you’ve removed yourself from ballots in states like Georgia, Pennsylvania, Nevada, and Arizona, but you're still on the ballot in Michigan, Wisconsin, and North Carolina. Polls suggest your presence on these ballots could influence the election outcome. How do you respond to that?"

Kennedy JR.: "We’re actively working to remove my name from ballots in all states where I could act as a spoiler and potentially harm President Trump. Ironically, the DNC, which previously tried to block my candidacy, is now suing to keep me on the ballot in some states."

MacCALLUM: "That is indeed ironic."

Kennedy JR.: "Yes, it is. In many states where we are trying to withdraw, the DNC is pushing to keep me on."

MacCALLUM: "Do you view this as manipulation by the DNC, aiming to influence the election outcome?"

Kennedy JR.: "The DNC's actions strike me as fundamentally undemocratic. I was raised in a Democratic Party that stood for the ideals of Robert Kennedy and John Kennedy, focusing on ensuring every American could vote for their preferred candidate. Over a million Americans signed petitions to get me on the ballot, and we met every signature requirement. The Democratic Party seems unsure of their candidates' ability to engage voters and is instead resorting to legal maneuvers to suppress competition, including myself and other candidates like Jill Stein."

MacCALLUM: "I’m afraid we’re out of time, but I appreciate your patience, and I hope you can join us again soon to discuss more."

Kennedy concluded by emphasizing the importance of voter choice and critiquing the DNC's lack of confidence in its nominees, contrasting the party's current tactics with its historic values.
