Sarah Huckabee Sanders Blames Biden and Harris for 'Destroying' America

Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders, a Republican, has sharply criticized President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris over their handling of border security, describing Biden’s presidency as a “failure.”

During an interview with Fox News host Jesse Watters, Sanders responded to a question about why it is difficult to deport individuals who commit crimes, such as "kicking cops, driving drunk, and stealing Social Security numbers."

Sanders explained, “It’s because we have a president who simply doesn’t care that millions of people are crossing our border illegally. He has the authority to shut the border down, to stop it. He can reinstate the remain in Mexico policy, and he could actually build the wall. There are numerous actions he could take, and this is a total failure by this administration. In Arkansas alone, we seized enough fentanyl in the last year to kill every person in our state.”

“That’s almost 3 million people. Every man, woman, and child. Just in this state. What’s happening under this president is an absolute disgrace, and it’s another clear reason why we need Donald Trump back in office to secure our borders and restore our country,” Sanders continued.

Watters then asked, “Do you think Joe Biden loves this country?”

Sanders responded bluntly: “If he did, he wouldn’t be working to destroy it second by second, minute by minute, hour by hour. That’s exactly what he’s doing. He’s allowed our economy to falter and our border to collapse. Our enemies don’t fear us,” she emphasized.

She further stated, “Our allies don’t respect us. Virtually everything he does is contributing to the destruction of this country. It’s disgraceful and disqualifying for him to remain president if he can’t even secure our borders, whether it’s the southern or northern border.”

Meanwhile, Texas Governor Greg Abbott has been openly defying the federal government and courts over his ongoing efforts to combat illegal immigration, following years of increasing migrant numbers after Biden reversed his predecessor’s successful border policies.

Abbott recently announced plans for a “forward operating base” near the southern border to support the National Guard’s efforts to enhance border security, in what he sees as a response to the federal government's lack of action.

Speaking at a press conference in Eagle Pass, Abbott detailed the base, which will cover 80 acres and house up to 1,800 troops, with space for an additional 500 during special deployments.

“Texas is expanding our border security by constructing a new Texas Military Department base camp to improve operations in this region,” Abbott stated. “This will enable more efficient and effective operations by the Texas Military Department soldiers stationed in Eagle Pass.”

“Texas wouldn’t be able to respond to President Biden’s border crisis without the brave men and women of the Texas National Guard. Building this base camp is essential for them,” he added.

Abbott’s moves come as federal appeals courts, with Republican-appointed judges, have recently dealt legal blows to his state’s border enforcement measures.

According to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) data, over 2.4 million encounters occurred at the U.S.-Mexico border during the 2023 fiscal year, up from around 1.7 million in 2021.
