Schiff Protests Kash Patel At FBI Building, Fails To Stop Confirmation

Sen. Adam Schiff made an unusual visit to FBI headquarters in Washington, D.C., this week, voicing strong opposition to President Donald Trump’s decision to appoint Kash Patel as the agency’s new director. His visit took place just hours before Patel’s confirmation by the full Senate.

Accompanied by several fellow Democrats, Schiff criticized Patel in statements to the press, prompting many to argue that his overtly political actions were further damaging his own reputation.

“This is someone we cannot trust,” Schiff declared. “This is someone who lacks the character to do this job, someone who lacks the integrity to do this job.”

Following his comments, figures such as Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk took to social media, pointing out that Schiff’s opposition likely stems from the fact that Patel played a key role in exposing the ‘Trump-Russia collusion’ hoax. Many believe Schiff’s involvement in pushing that narrative—including turning it into one of Trump’s impeachment cases—makes Patel a serious threat to him.

Additionally, others highlighted that Schiff has reportedly received a preemptive pardon from former President Joe Biden, supposedly linked to potential legal concerns.

After his confirmation, Patel shared a statement on his X account, expressing gratitude to the president and committing to his new role.

“I am honored to be confirmed as the ninth Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Thank you to President Trump and Attorney General Bondi for your unwavering confidence and support,” Patel wrote.

He emphasized the Bureau’s historical significance, saying, “The FBI has a storied legacy—from the ‘G-Men’ to safeguarding our nation in the wake of 9/11. The American people deserve an FBI that is transparent, accountable, and committed to justice.”

“The politicization of our justice system has eroded public trust—but that ends today. My mission as Director is clear: let good cops be cops—and rebuild trust in the FBI. Working alongside the dedicated men and women of the Bureau and our partners, we will rebuild an FBI the American people can be proud of,” he continued.

“And to those who seek to harm Americans—consider this your warning. We will hunt you down in every corner of this planet. Mission First. America Always. Let’s get to work,” Patel added.

Attorney General Pam Bondi praised Patel’s confirmation in a message on X and reiterated her support during CPAC this week.

“Kash is extremely passionate about restoring the reputation of the FBI, and I look forward to working closely with him to end violent crime, protect our national security, and make America safe again,” Bondi stated.

Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) also weighed in, asserting that Schiff and other Democrats are particularly uneasy about Patel leading the FBI due to his in-depth knowledge of their roles in the Russiagate controversy.

“I think, too, they are very fearful of Kash Patel, because Kash Patel knows what Adam Schiff and some of the others did with Russia collusion, and they know that he knows — the dirt on them, if you will — and I think they’re fearful of what he’s going to do and what he’s going to reveal,” Blackburn told “Fox & Friends” on Sunday.
