Seconds Before Trump Attack, Shooter Had an Insane Encounter with Police Officer

Police had a face-to-face encounter with the man who tried to assassinate former President Donald Trump just moments before the Saturday shooting, as reported recently.

The incident took place at a rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday, resulting in the deaths of two individuals: rally attendee and former fire chief Corey Comperator, and the shooter, identified by the FBI as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks. Trump was grazed on the ear, causing bleeding, but he suffered no further injuries.

A Sunday report from the Associated Press revealed that a police officer had climbed onto the roof of the small metal-sheet building from which Crooks later shot at Trump.

Witnesses at the rally reported to authorities and security personnel about the shooter, pinpointing his location as he prepared to fire at the president.

The new report corroborated these claims, leading a local police officer to ascend the roof to confront Crooks.

Crooks aimed his rifle at the officer, who then retreated down the ladder.

Shortly after, Crooks "quickly took a shot toward Trump" before Secret Service snipers returned fire, killing him.

Sources also informed the Associated Press that bomb-making materials were found in Crooks' vehicle.

The FBI stated that the shooting is being investigated as "an attempted assassination and an act of domestic terrorism."

Following the incident, former President Trump released two official statements via his Truth Social account.

In the first statement on Saturday night, Trump expressed gratitude to Secret Service officials and extended condolences to Comperator’s family.

In the second statement on Sunday, Trump once again offered condolences and shared his thoughts on the state of the nation.

"Thank you to everyone for your thoughts and prayers yesterday, as it was God alone who prevented the unthinkable from happening. We will FEAR NOT, but instead remain resilient in our Faith and Defiant in the face of Wickedness," Trump wrote.

"Our love goes out to the other victims and their families. We pray for the recovery of those who were wounded, and hold in our hearts the memory of the citizen who was so horribly killed."

"In this moment, it is more important than ever that we stand United, and show our True Character as Americans, remaining Strong and Determined, and not allowing Evil to Win. I truly love our Country, and love you all, and look forward to speaking to our Great Nation this week from Wisconsin."
