Shocker at Patel Hearing: Sen Confirms FBI, DOJ Obstructed Investigation of Trump Assassination Attempt

Florida Republican Sen. Ashley Moody revealed on Thursday the numerous obstacles she encountered while attempting to investigate the second assassination attempt on now-President Donald Trump.

Moody, who previously served as Florida's attorney general before being appointed to fill the Senate seat left vacant by now-Secretary of State Marco Rubio, had taken the lead in probing the second attack against Trump. The incident occurred on a Sunday morning in September at Trump International Golf Club in Florida while the then-Republican presidential nominee was playing golf.

During the confirmation hearing of Kash Patel, Trump’s nominee to head the FBI, Moody described the extreme resistance she faced from federal law enforcement in her investigation.

“Many people were shocked that a would-be assassin could get that close to a president after it had just happened so quickly,” Moody stated, referring to the individual who positioned himself on Trump’s golf course with a firearm.

“I was tasked, along with law enforcement in Florida, to pursue that investigation, and every step of the way, federal law enforcement, the FBI specifically, and the attorneys, federal attorneys, frustrated our efforts,” she continued.

Her team was informed they “couldn’t go on the crime scene,” while the FBI “wouldn’t share evidence” and even “suggested that we would be violating the law if we pursued our own investigation.”

Federal agencies, including the FBI, obstructed Florida’s efforts “even in the face of us telling them and informing them that a 6-year-old girl almost died as a result of state and local law enforcement having to shut down the roads to pursue that would-be assassin.”

Ultimately, Moody was forced to take legal action against the Biden Department of Justice and then-Attorney General Merrick Garland “because they refused and obstructed our ability to prosecute and investigate our own laws.”

Her frustration was evident as she recounted the challenges she and her team faced.

State officials, including Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, recognized that the Biden FBI could not be relied upon to provide transparency about what occurred at the golf course. As a result, they took action independently to safeguard Trump, a resident of their state, and exercised their full authority in the jurisdiction where the attack took place.

However, the Biden administration actively interfered, preventing their pursuit of justice and the truth—something that had become a pattern over the past four years.

As highlighted in Kash Patel’s confirmation hearing, there is a strong demand for reform and accountability throughout the federal government.

The American people not only expect but also deserve a federal law enforcement system that uncovers rather than conceals the truth, and that exposes, rather than spreads, misleading narratives.

This expectation extends from everyday citizens all the way up to the current leadership in the White House.
