Speaker Johnson Torches Democrats For Latest Stunt Against Trump

House Speaker Mike Johnson took aim at Democrats this week, accusing them of repeatedly attempting to block and derail President Donald Trump’s agenda.
During an appearance on Fox News with host Mark Levin, Johnson expressed his concerns, stating that Democrats have “all become big government socialists” and described their approach as “Marxist in their ideology.”
Levin opened the segment by posing a question to Johnson: “Speaker Johnson, what is it exactly that the Democrats want? Have they told you? Have they laid out a plan? Have they discussed what they want to do with taxes, what they want to do with spending? Are they opposed to all these things that have been found, to get rid of them, the bloat, the waste, the fraud? All I hear from them is the same thing like during the election, ‘Oh, this one’s a tyrant, this one is a dictator, tax cuts for billionaires.’ Will this Marxist pablum work? Do they actually stand for something?”
Johnson responded by agreeing with Levin’s premise. “Well, it is Marxism, and you’ve been pointing that out for years, where this party was headed. They’ve all become big big government socialists, Marxist in their ideology, and they really want the government to control every aspect of our lives and to take all of our hard-earned earnings and dispense it as they see fit. But we are the party of fiscal responsibility,” Johnson said.
He continued by emphasizing the need for what he called “fiscal sanity,” adding, “Fiscal sanity is what is necessary right now. We love the theme that President Trump has reintroduced to Washington: returning to common sense. And if you look at that, the first order of business is to ensure that we don’t crash the economy. As you’ve noted, $36 trillion in federal debt, we’re on a trajectory that is simply not sustainable, and that is why the bond markets are nervous. That is why the people are looking at futures and they are concerned about it, and they are hoping beyond hope that President Trump and the Republicans can get control of this. We will, and we are demonstrating that day-by-day, step-by-step,” he added.
Johnson also highlighted upcoming changes, explaining that next year’s budget and appropriations process will reflect significant savings. “One of the things that will be the big innovation for the next year’s budget and appropriations process is all these amazing amounts of savings that we are going to be able to find not only through the elimination of fraud, waste, abuse through the DOGE efforts and all these other — our committees in Congress working hard to root that out and work in conjunction with Elon and the team, but also because of the new revenue sources that President Trump and the administration are bringing to the table.”
He assured viewers that these efforts would “reset the economic future of the country,” but expressed doubts about Democratic cooperation. “Now, again, I don’t think any of the Democrats have any intention at all of helping us with this. I think they want the government to continue to grow and grow out of control, and some have their heads in the sand, Mark, and they genuinely believe that we can never crash the economy, that the dollar could never be removed as the world’s reserve currency,” Johnson remarked.
He criticized what he described as flawed economic theories: “They actually theorize that since we ‘own the printing presses,’ we can just print more money. But they are defying the laws of economics, just as they defy all other common sense, and we’re the ones bringing it back.”
Johnson concluded on an optimistic note, reflecting on recent election results: “So I am grateful for the outcome of this last election. It was a decisive one. We could have lost the republic, Mark, but because we won, we’re going to deliver for the American people and we’re going to ensure that we have many great years ahead for this grand experiment in self-governance.”
