New Albany Police Chief Greg Jones stated that Foster had been working for several hours before the shooting took place at approximately 10:30 p.m.
Co-workers “did say that nobody here noticed any type of confrontation or anything that might have triggered this,” Jones said on Wednesday morning.
Police recovered the firearm believed to have been used at the crime scene.
“This appears at this point to be a targeted attack,” Jones said, confirming that Foster is the only suspect.
Authorities have been actively searching for Foster.
“We had addresses that we thought the suspect might be at; our officers and our partners went to those addresses,” Jones said. “The ones we’ve checked so far … we’ve not been able to find him.”
At the time of the shooting, about 150 employees were inside the warehouse, with some unaware of the incident due to the facility's size.
“This is something that we hoped that would never happen in our community,” Jones said.
