‘The Five’ Co-Host Tarlov Under Fire Over Tale About ‘Regretful’ Trump Voter

Jessica Tarlov, the liberal commentator on Fox News’ "The Five," has come under scrutiny after recounting what some see as an unlikely story about a Trump voter who allegedly expressed regret over his decision.

Speaking on a left-leaning podcast, Tarlov shared that she had a conversation late last year with a "college student in the Midwest" who had "reached out" to her for career advice in politics. According to her account, the student quickly voiced disappointment with Trump after voting for him in November.

"We got on the phone, he emailed me last week, and he said I could share this," she stated while reading from the email. "'I really appreciated hearing what you have had to say last week on "The Five" and your podcast with Scott… You’ve really opened my mind on current things that are going on as someone who voted for Trump, and you’ve been communicating a lot of frustrations I’ve been feeling.'"

Continuing with the email, she read: "'I’ve been feeling alongside some family and friends who didn’t expect all the chaos.' And then he puts in parentheses, 'not to mention the tariffs as our family owns a small business where all our products are made in China.'"

During the podcast, Tarlov suggested that this indicated young Trump voters were experiencing regret.

"It only took two weeks. This level of chaos, for him to feel strongly enough that he would write that down," she commented.

However, skepticism arose online, with several social media users questioning the authenticity of Tarlov’s claim.

"Of all the things that never happened, this never happened the most," conservative personality Catturd posted.

"Nobody is regretting their vote. Not a single person LOL," another user responded. "Fakest news of the day," added another commenter.

"I’ll take ‘things that never happened’ for 500 Alex," joked another user.

Meanwhile, Trump’s approval rating has remained solid one month into his term, despite rapid policy implementations.

Newsweek reported that multiple surveys indicate Trump maintaining strong support. A SurveyUSA poll of 2,000 adults found 51 percent approving of his presidency, while 45 percent disapproved, giving him a net approval rating of +6 points.

Another Morning Consult poll released on Tuesday revealed that 50 percent of voters approved of Trump's job performance, while 47 percent disapproved.

Eli Yokley, a U.S. politics analyst for Morning Consult, and Cameron Easley, head of U.S. political analysis, observed that Trump’s approval had "stabilized" following three consecutive weeks of decline.

Additionally, a Republican-affiliated survey by Scott Rasmussen and RMG Research found Trump with 55 percent approval and 43 percent disapproval, resulting in a net approval of +12 points.

Since returning to the White House on January 20, Trump's approval among this demographic has stayed above 50 percent, reaching 57 percent during inauguration week.
