‘The Five’ Co-Hosts Lament Biden Leaving Trump A Country, World In Turmoil

On Tuesday, co-hosts of Fox News’s The Five discussed how President Joe Biden is leaving office in a significantly diminished mental state, ultimately handing a tumultuous nation and world to President-elect Donald Trump.
Greg Gutfeld and Jesse Watters also made light of Biden’s appearance at the funeral of the late Jimmy Carter, using the moment to highlight the state of the nation as Biden exits the White House.
“Biden is in such bad shape, Jesse, that at Jimmy Carter’s funeral, people were offering condolences to Dr. Jill,” Gutfeld remarked, referencing the First Lady, Jill Biden.
“Greg, he had four years, and he didn’t even conquer Canada. What a waste of time. And Canada was just begging to be conquered,” Watters joked in response. “Trump handed Biden a much more peaceful and secure world than the one Biden is leaving behind.”
Watters continued, reflecting on the contrast between Trump’s legacy and the state of the nation now: “Think about what was handed to Joe—peace, a secure border—and now, Trump’s coming back to two active proxy wars, cartels running wild at the border, the second deadliest terror attack on U.S. soil since 9/11, and former FBI director’s warning about Chinese sleeper cells all across the country.”
“This is not a good look. And when he talks about alliances, our allies’ leaders were literally laughing at Joe behind his back. They were setting up meetings to avoid him falling asleep. They’d schedule dinners earlier, and he’d still skip them because he was too tired. So what’s the Biden doctrine? I have no idea. His mantra was ‘don’t,’ and everyone violated it. He probably won’t even get a presidential library, and honestly, there’s not much to write about,” Watters added.
Gutfeld responded humorously: “Yeah, it’d have to be picture books—pop-ups.”
As Biden nears the end of his term, he appears determined to leave as many challenges for Trump as possible. One of his final moves includes raising the cost of gasoline by imposing new sanctions on Russia. The timing of these sanctions, just days before Trump’s return, has raised eyebrows.
When questioned about the sanctions and their potential effect on gas prices, Biden explained: “The sanctions are imposed today because they will have a profound effect on the growth of the Russian economy and make it more difficult for Putin to continue his wars.” He acknowledged that gas prices could rise by a few cents but emphasized the strategic importance of the sanctions in counteracting Russia’s actions.
Earlier, Fox News hosts voiced their disapproval of Biden’s decision to commute the sentence of Michael T. Conahan, a former judge involved in the infamous “kids for cash” scandal. The decision sparked outrage, with hosts calling it “beyond disgusting.”
Conahan was among the 1,500 individuals whose sentences were commuted by Biden this week. Biden also granted 39 pardons to non-violent offenders. Conahan, however, drew significant attention due to his role in a scheme where he accepted kickbacks from private prisons in exchange for sending juveniles to detention centers.
