Three 'The View' Co-Hosts Missing from Show, Producers Forced to Call in Replacements

They say absence makes the heart grow fonder, but is that the strategy “The View” is using to shake things up?

For both loyal viewers and outspoken critics of ABC’s female-led talk show, Tuesday’s episode certainly stood out — though not for its usual headline-grabbing moments.

Instead, it turned heads for an entirely different reason: the noticeable shake-up in its co-host lineup.

The full episode is embedded below, but it doesn’t take long to notice the dramatic shift in the panel:

As the program kicked off with graphics discussing reactions to the divisive pardon of Hunter Biden, the introductions revealed something distinctly unusual about this broadcast.

Sure, regulars Whoopi Goldberg and Sunny Hostin were present.

But missing in action were three of the show’s mainstays: Joy Behar, Sara Haines, and Alyssa Farah Griffin.

In their places were former co-host Abby Huntsman and “Bachelorette” alum Rachel Lindsay — both seemingly last-minute additions.

“If you’re wondering what’s going on, there’s nothing wrong with your television set,” Goldberg quipped as she opened the episode. “Joy is not here. Sara is not here, and Alyssa is not here today.”

After Goldberg introduced Huntsman, the ex-co-host joked about the unexpected call to return. “I was in my sweatpants, cleaning up mac and cheese off the floor,” she shared, explaining how she ended up on the show.

Huntsman added, “[Show producer Brian Teta] is like, ‘We’re in a pinch!’”

Entertainment Weekly offered some insight into the co-host absences, though Behar’s reason remains unclear.

Griffin had previously disclosed that she might miss Tuesday’s show due to ongoing IVF treatments.

Meanwhile, Haines appeared to have called out sick on Monday, which likely explains her absence on Tuesday.

As for Behar, she usually takes Mondays off, but no explanation was provided for why she also skipped Tuesday’s show.

While the official line from the show denies it, rumors have been swirling that “The View” may be gearing up for significant changes — potentially including the addition of voices more sympathetic to President-elect Donald Trump.

Historically, the current lineup of co-hosts has been unified in its criticism of Trump, his policies, and his supporters, making any potential shift in perspective a striking departure for the long-running daytime program.
