Tim Walz's Attempt to Mock Trump Over Indoor Inauguration Backfires

Friday’s announcement that President-elect Donald Trump’s Inauguration Day ceremony would be moved inside the Capitol Rotunda due to inclement weather sparked a flurry of reactions from officials—some of whom would have been wiser to stay silent.

One glaring example was Minnesota Democratic Gov. Tim Walz, a former vice-presidential nominee.

In response to the Associated Press report, Walz—still licking his wounds from the landslide election defeat he and running mate Vice President Kamala Harris suffered—posted a photo of himself at a podium in the middle of a snowfall.

“There’s no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing,” Walz captioned the post.

The implication was crystal clear: Walz wanted his followers to believe that, unlike Trump, he doesn’t let bad weather drive him indoors. He’s tough enough to handle whatever Mother Nature dishes out.

Unsurprisingly, Trump supporters didn’t let the remark slide. They quickly reminded Walz that this isn’t a problem he and Harris would need to worry about on Monday.

One user succinctly responded with a picture of the election night map, captioned, “Scoreboard.”

Another jabbed, “Cope harder.”

Yet another offered a sharp reminder: “The voters soundly rejected you.”

In a particularly biting comment, one user mocked, “What time is your inauguration at again?”

Walz should have known better. The sting of Nov. 5 is still fresh in many minds.

After losing both the popular vote and the Electoral College, the Harris-Walz ticket was soundly rejected by the American electorate.

Walz’s attempt to take a dig at Trump came across as tone-deaf and short-sighted. Rather than making him look tough, it highlighted just how disconnected he remains after his failed campaign.

Trying to gloat about standing in the snow isn’t going to change anyone’s perception, especially when voters still remember Walz’s odd debate performances, accusations of stolen valor, and vocal support for socialism.

And let’s not forget: Trump famously “took a bullet to the side of his face.”

Whatever message of resilience Walz wanted to convey with his snowy photo pales in comparison.

At this point, the gripes of the defeated party hold little weight. The votes have been counted, and the Harris-Walz 2024 campaign has been decisively rejected.

It’s time to move on.
