Top Democrat Left 'Appalled' by Biden DHS, Says Trump Assassination Report Will Shock the Public

Democratic Senator Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut stated that Americans would be “appalled and astonished” by the serious security failures made by the Secret Service and the Department of Homeland Security, leading to the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump on July 13.

The outspoken Trump critic shared these comments Thursday after a private briefing with the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee and acting Secret Service Director Ronald Rowe.

“I believe the American people are going to be shocked, astonished, and appalled by what we report regarding the failures of the Secret Service in this assassination attempt on the former president,” Blumenthal told Fox News.

“But they should also be appalled and astonished by the failure of the Department of Homeland Security to be as forthcoming and candid as necessary in providing information to them,” he added.

When asked for further details on the private briefing, Blumenthal chose not to elaborate.

However, the senator did mention that the committee would soon issue an interim report, though he did not specify a date.

“We will have a report very, very soon that I believe will absolutely shock the American people—or it should—about the lapses in protection, communication breakdowns, and the failure of responsibility,” he said.

As the investigation into the assassination attempt continued, it became apparent that there were numerous serious security errors that led to the attempt on July 13 at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

Among those being blamed are President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, who reportedly refused several requests from Trump’s campaign for additional Secret Service protection.

Additionally, there were a series of strange and unacceptable security failures that culminated in Trump being shot in the face.

Blumenthal’s acknowledgment that the former president was not sufficiently protected sparked significant discussion on social media.

“If Blumenthal is admitting this, it must be far worse than we thought, considering he’s always been a supporter of the Democrats and the deep state,” one user on X commented.

As the public has come to understand, trusting the “official narrative” pushed by the government or mainstream media is often difficult in significant events.

Many hope Trump remains safe throughout this election season and ultimately regains the White House to work on making America great again.
