Trump Earns Backing Of Congressional Medal Of Honor Recipients

Former President Donald Trump has received a significant endorsement that challenges the Democrats' narrative surrounding him.

More than a dozen Congressional Medal of Honor recipients have written a letter of support for the former president, outlining their reasons for backing him, according to a report by Fox News.

"We, 15 recipients of the Medal of Honor, having served this great nation in wars, support and endorse Donald J. Trump for President of the United States," the veterans, who served in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Vietnam, expressed in their letter.

They continued, "We believe that American citizenship is a revered privilege. We believe that a patriotic nation is a strong nation. We believe that the sacrifices by the men and women in our armed forces preserve and protect American freedom."

The recipients emphasized the importance of the nation's institutions: "We believe that the integrity of our institutions is fundamental to the trust placed in them. We believe in the commitment to the United States Constitution and our solemn oaths to protect it. We believe valor is great fortitude when faced with profound adversity."

They also highlighted their loyalty to the country, saying, "We believe in the devoted pledge of allegiance to the United States of America. We believe that American veterans should be celebrated and supported by our nation," and underscored the need for secure borders: "We believe that our nation must have borders secure from our enemies."

The veterans expressed their support for Trump because they believe in "protecting the right for all citizens to participate in free and fair elections."

In a pointed remark likely aimed at Vice President Kamala Harris’ choice for running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, they added, "We believe that fabricating military service is beneath the dignity of a veteran and demeaning to those who have served honorably in the Armed Forces."

The letter further stressed the need to defend freedom, stating, "We believe that the enemies of freedom must be defeated," and praised the American flag as "a powerful symbol of freedom."

"We believe the United States of America is the greatest nation the world has ever imagined. We believe in mutually pledging to every American our Lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honor," they concluded, adding, "We believe in Donald Trump."

In a related conversation in September, Silicon Valley investor Naval Ravikant spoke with former Fox News host Megyn Kelly on her Sirius XM show, explaining that the legal actions, or "lawfare," against Trump had prompted him to support the former president, as reported by Breitbart News.

"It was the lawfare that kind of brought me off the sidelines. It’s really disgusting behavior because this is how you descend into a complete banana republic with military coups and military rule," Ravikant said on "The Megyn Kelly Show."

He emphasized the dangers of weaponizing the legal system against political opponents, stating, "The moment you can start weaponizing the law against your enemies selectively, that’s the beginning of the end."

Ravikant referenced a famous quote by former Peruvian President Óscar R. Benavides, saying, "For my friends, everything, for my enemies, the law."

"That is, once you’re in charge and you get to dictate who the law applies to, you’re on a very slippery slope, and slippery slopes are real," he added.

Ravikant criticized the charges against Trump, saying, "If you were to actually look at the charges that were brought against Trump — and I actually read them quite carefully — these were really trumped up. They were really made up."

He highlighted how statutes of limitations were violated and how minor offenses were inflated into felonies. "It was a miscategorization of ‘business expenses,’" Ravikant explained. "When you have complex business dealings like I do and like many people do, you can always find something."

He pointed out the issue of selective prosecution, particularly in progressive districts, stating, "A lot of the progressive DA movement that comes out of George Soros and others is based on this understanding that, ‘Hey, actually, we can choose whether or not to prosecute certain people.’"

Ravikant noted that this selective prosecution has caused significant harm in cities like San Francisco, where Kamala Harris served as District Attorney, and in Los Angeles, where George Gascón is the District Attorney. He accused them of not prosecuting criminals while targeting business owners.

"You can take a deep blue or deep red state, you can take a deep blue or deep red jury, and you can basically creatively interpret these infinite laws that we have to find anybody guilty of a crime," he warned.

Ravikant referenced another well-known quote from Lavrentiy Beria, a Soviet police chief under Joseph Stalin: "You find me the man and I’ll find you the crime."

He cautioned that the weaponization of justice is a dangerous path, stating, "The moment you start breaking down this wall and you get into weaponizing justice — this is the scary stuff. This is the stuff that ends a Republic or turns into a one-party state, better known as a dictatorship."

Ravikant predicted that this legal warfare could lead to violence and division in the United States, adding, "When Alvin Bragg runs on the explicit campaign to take down Trump, and then they go hunting through and looking for anything and drumming up any charge... that is the beginning of the end."

He expressed disdain for those in Silicon Valley supporting these legal actions, concluding, "These people are destroying the ground on which they stand. Do they think they won’t be next?"
