Trump Fires Back After Taylor Swift's Kamala Endorsement: 'I Actually Like Mrs. Mahomes Much Better'

Taylor Swift made headlines late Tuesday by endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris, currently a key leader of the Democratic Party, through her Instagram account. The endorsement came after a highly contentious debate, during which former President Donald Trump, the GOP frontrunner, received mixed reviews from several outlets.

Whether or not the endorsement affected Trump, he addressed it on Wednesday morning during an appearance on “Fox & Friends,” when co-host Steve Doocy asked, “Taylor Swift endorsed Kamala Harris. What do you think?”

Trump initially laughed and then responded, “I actually like Mrs. Mahomes much better, if you want to know the truth. She’s a big Trump fan. I was not a Taylor Swift fan.”

“Mrs. Mahomes” refers to Brittany Mahomes, wife of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes. Brittany and Swift had built a friendship last year due to Swift’s relationship with Chiefs star Travis Kelce, but speculation on social media suggested a rift had formed, possibly related to Mahomes' open support for Trump.

Brittany Mahomes had faced backlash from Swift’s fans after liking a pro-Trump post supporting Trump and his running mate, J.D. Vance. Despite this, Trump expressed his appreciation for her continued support.

Trump commented on Swift’s endorsement, noting it was unsurprising given her liberal stance, saying, “She seems to always endorse a Democrat,” before suggesting that Swift might face consequences in the marketplace for her political stance.

Trump then reiterated his support for Mahomes, calling her “terrific,” and praised her husband as “the great quarterback,” emphasizing his preference for Brittany Mahomes over Taylor Swift in the political arena.
