Trump Flips Arizona, Sweeping All Battleground States
President-elect Donald Trump has now been projected to secure Arizona, completing a sweep of every battleground state over Kamala Harris in the 2024 election.
With Arizona's victory, Trump has successfully claimed all seven competitive states, including Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Georgia, Michigan, Wisconsin, Nevada, and Arizona.
This achievement brings Trump’s Electoral College total to 312 votes, marking the highest count among any candidate in the race.
Pre-election polling indicated a tightly contested race, with Trump leading Harris by an average of 2.8 points heading into Election Day. Arizona saw a slight uptick in spending on election advertising compared to 2020.
“In 2020, $427 million was invested by both parties in all political races within the state. This year, that number has risen to $487 million, with Democrats spending $308 million and Republicans $147 million. For the 2024 presidential campaign in Arizona, Democrats outspent Republicans $122 million to $83 million,” the Daily Wire reported.
Following Trump’s victory, Vice President-elect J.D. Vance expressed gratitude and excitement in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, acknowledging his family and the support of Republican voters for a successful election outcome.
“THANK YOU! To my beautiful wife for making it possible to do this. To President Donald J. Trump, for giving me such an opportunity to serve our country at this level. And to the American people, for their trust. I will never stop fighting for ALL of you,” Vance wrote.
In his victory speech at Trump Headquarters early Wednesday morning, Trump reflected, saying, “God spared [his] life for a reason.”
Trump, who has endured two assassination attempts since July, conveyed his appreciation for a renewed opportunity to lead the nation in a 25-minute speech delivered from West Palm Beach, Florida.
“This is a magnificent victory for the American people that will allow us to make America great again,” Trump said. “In addition to winning in the battleground states of North Carolina — I love these places — Georgia, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, we are also winning in Michigan, Arizona, Nevada, and Alaska, which brings us to at least 315 electoral votes. But it’s much easier doing what the networks did, or whoever called it, because there was no other path. There was no other path to victory. We also won the popular vote. That was great,” Trump stated to an enthusiastic crowd chanting “USA! USA!”
“Many people have told me that God spared my life for a reason, and that reason was to save our country and to restore America to greatness,” Trump continued. “Now, we’re going to fulfill that mission together.”
“Thank you. Thank you very much. Winning the popular vote was very nice, I will tell you. It’s a great feeling of love. We have a great feeling of love in this very large room, with incredible people standing by my side. These people have been remarkable. They’ve been on this journey with me, and we’re going to make you very happy. We will make you very proud of your vote,” he added.
“I hope that you’re going to look back someday and say, ‘That was one of the truly important moments of my life, when I voted for this group of people, beyond the president. This group of great people.’ America has given us a powerful and unprecedented mandate. We’ve taken back control of the Senate. Wow, that’s great,” Trump declared.
He went on to say, “The task before us will not be easy, but I will bring every ounce of energy, spirit, and fight that I have in my soul to the job that you’ve entrusted to me.”
“We are going to secure our borders, we are going to fix every issue facing our country. We made history for a reason tonight, and that reason will be fulfilled. We overcame obstacles that no one thought possible, and now it’s clear we’ve achieved the most incredible political — look what happened. Is this crazy?” Trump declared.
“This is a political victory like our country has never witnessed. Nothing like this. I want to thank the American people for the extraordinary honor of being elected your 47th president, and your 45th president,” he concluded.
