Trump Gets Earth-Shaking News That ROCKS The 2024 Election

Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, has reversed its previous decision to ban former President Donald Trump from both platforms following the riot at the U.S. Capitol Building.

A Meta spokesperson confirmed to Fox News that the tech giant will lift the bans on Trump’s Meta accounts that have been in place since January 2021. The company stated that the restrictions will be lifted “in the coming weeks.”

This reversal came after officials reassessed their “responsibility to allow political expression.”

“We believe that the American people should be able to hear from the nominees for President on the same basis,” the company announced in a release. “In reaching this conclusion, we also considered that these penalties were a response to extreme and extraordinary circumstances, and have not had to be deployed,” Meta added.

Fox reported that the tech giant noted, as part of a newly updated policy, that there would be “heightened penalties for repeat offenses,” such as those by Trump.

If Trump breaches the community guidelines again, Meta stated that it would delete the offending posts and could suspend him for one month to two years, depending on the severity of the violation.

After the Capitol riot on January 6, 2021, Meta banned Trump’s social media accounts, citing his praise for individuals involved in the violence. The controversial decision marked the first instance of a sitting president being barred from Facebook, sparking widespread criticism from various political quarters.

Following his ban, Trump established Truth Social, a platform operated by Trump Media & Technology Group. Additionally, his campaign launched accounts on X and TikTok, with the TikTok account rapidly gaining 7.6 million followers.

It remains unclear if Trump will take advantage of the opportunity to return to these popular platforms.

In December 2022, then-Twitter CEO Elon Musk reinstated Trump’s account after it was suspended following the riot. When Trump’s account reappeared, so did all of his tweets, the last of which was posted on January 8, 2021.

“To all of those who have asked, I will not be going to the Inauguration on January 20th,” Trump tweeted.

Since then, Trump has posted only once — a tweet containing his mugshot following his arrest in Fulton County, Georgia, on ‘election interference’ racketeering charges.

Trump responded to his reinstatement at the time.

“I don’t know if you’ve been following, but Twitter is blowing up today. Elon Musk posted a poll that had over thirteen million responses so far asking whether or not you should be reinstated on Twitter. My question to you is what do you think about Elon Musk buying Twitter and if you are reinstated, will we see you back on Twitter again?” one of the hosts of the Republican Jewish Coalition annual conference asked Trump on Friday.

“Well, I like that he bought it. I’ve always liked him. I got along very well during my days as president and got to know him pretty well, but I do like him. I’ve always really ... he is a character and I tend to like characters, but he is smart,” Trump responded.

“He did put up a poll and I hear it is very overwhelming, very strong, but I have something called ... If you look, it is Trump-owned, but it’s really fantastic, Truth Social, and Truth Social is through the roof. It’s doing phenomenally well,” he said.

“The press hates to talk about it, but it’s doing phenomenally well. I think engagement is much better than with Twitter, and it’s taking care of voices that really want to be taken care of, and really smart voices, brilliant voices. Voices that in many cases are on both sides. But I can tell you, there’s a lot of voice for Israel, a lot of power for Israel on Truth Social, so Truth Social has been very, very powerful, very, very strong and I’ll be staying there, but I heard we’re getting a big vote to go back on Twitter. I don’t see it because I don’t see a reason for it,” Trump added.
