Trump Gets HUGE News Hours After Guilty Verdict
After being convicted of several offenses in a notably biased trial in New York City, Shaun Maguire, a partner at Sequoia Capital in Silicon Valley, announced on X that he would be donating $300,000 to former President Donald Trump’s presidential campaign.
“Back in 2016, I had fallen for the media’s narrative and was extremely fearful of Trump. As a result, I supported and voted for Hillary Clinton,” Maguire wrote in an X post. “By 2020, I was disillusioned and didn’t vote because I didn’t like either candidate. Now, in 2024, I believe this is one of the most crucial elections of my lifetime, and I’m backing Trump.”
Maguire acknowledged that his decision would likely shock and anger his friends and colleagues. He stated, “I refuse to live in a society where people are scared to speak.”
After detailing how much media "kool aid" he had previously consumed, including the false narrative of “Russian collusion,” Maguire explained that he could no longer support Biden due to the chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan. “I won’t delve into all the specifics now, but this was personal for me and everyone who has served in Afghanistan. The general public's understanding of what happened there is incorrect,” he claimed.
At the conclusion of his post, Maguire confirmed his substantial $300,000 contribution to Trump’s presidential campaign.
Shortly after Maguire’s announcement, prominent Trump supporter and former congressman Lee Zeldin revealed he had secured another large donation for the campaign.
“Just secured an $800k donation from someone for President Trump’s Joint Fundraising Committee. Never experienced a massive ask that easy,” Zeldin declared.
In the hours following the significant ruling, small donations began pouring in, crashing the main website for the GOP fundraising platform WinRed as well as Trump’s campaign website.
“It was a rigged trial, it was a disgrace,” Trump said outside the courtroom. “The real verdict will be on November 5th by the people. They know what happened here. I am a very innocent man,” he added, noting that he plans to file an appeal immediately.
