Trump Makes History at the Super Bowl: A First for Sitting U.S. Presidents

President Donald Trump’s time in the White House remains a major topic of discussion—even on Super Bowl Sunday.

On Sunday, Trump made history as the first sitting U.S. president to attend a Super Bowl, arriving at Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans.

This year’s championship showdown features the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles.

According to USA Today, the president was invited to the game as a guest of New Orleans Saints owner Gayle Benson.

His appearance at the event followed a busy day for the commander-in-chief.

Earlier, Trump participated in a Sunday interview with Fox, which is broadcasting this year’s Super Bowl.

During the conversation, which was conducted by Brett Baier and aired Sunday morning, Trump shared his thoughts on the game.

Trump predicted a Chiefs victory and expressed admiration for Brittany Mahomes, wife of Kansas City quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who had drawn criticism for liking pro-Trump social media posts.

“She’s a Trump fan, she’s a MAGA fan, so I happen to love her, OK?” Trump stated.

“I guess what you have to say is when a quarterback wins as much as [Patrick Mahomes has] won, I have to go with Kansas City.”

“It’s going to be just a great game.”
