Trump Makes Massive Move Causing Outrage: ‘Unable To Serve’

With a bold series of executive orders sure to provoke a strong reaction from left-leaning critics, the second week of the Trump administration is shaping up to mirror the decisive action of its first.
In the latest set of orders, which President Donald Trump is expected to sign on Monday, he will further his promise to eliminate diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives from all areas of government. This time, the focus will be on the U.S. military—a cornerstone of global strength that many conservatives argue was weakened under the Biden-Harris administration by excessive social engineering.
One major action will reverse a 2021 policy implemented by then-President Joe Biden that allowed transgender service members to openly identify with their new gender. The new order will bar transgender individuals from serving during deployment and establish military-wide regulations on pronoun usage.
The Trump administration plans to justify the ban on transgender service members by citing concerns over mental and physical readiness. This rationale underscores the official stance of the Department of Defense, which will take effect once the president signs the order.
“Unit cohesion requires high levels of integrity and stability among service members,” states a White House document obtained by the New York Post.
“There can be no accommodation for anything less than resilience, strength, and the ability to withstand extraordinary physical demands,” the document continues. “Individuals who are unable to meet these requirements are unable to serve in the military. This has been the case for decades.”
The memo further explains, “Transition surgery can require a minimum of 12 months of treatment, often involving heavy narcotics. During this time, individuals are not physically capable of meeting military readiness standards and need ongoing medical care. This is incompatible with deployment or other readiness requirements.”
Estimates from 2024 suggest there may be as many as 15,500 transgender service members in the U.S. military, though no comprehensive census exists.
This will be Trump’s second attempt to restrict transgender participation in the armed forces, following a 2018 initiative that was later reversed by Biden’s 2021 executive order.
The new directive will also instruct Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth to “update all Department of Defense medical standards to ensure they prioritize readiness and lethality,” ban biological males and females from using facilities designated for the opposite sex, and end the “use of invented and identification-based pronouns” in military settings, according to the New York Post.
The White House memo criticizes the previous administration, accusing it of promoting “gender insanity” at the expense of military preparedness. The document claims that soldiers were often “physically or mentally unprepared” to fulfill their duties, while taxpayers bore the costs of gender-reassignment surgeries.
A second executive order set to be signed on Monday will immediately terminate all DEI efforts within the military and ban “discriminatory race- or sex-based preferences” across the Department of Defense (DoD), Armed Forces, and Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
According to the memo, DEI programs under the Biden administration fostered widespread “discrimination” under the guise of inclusivity. Secretary Hegseth will now personally review every reported instance of bias.
“Today’s Order moves our military away from this dark period and renews esprit de corps, readiness, and focus,” the memo states. “It returns the Pentagon to the warfighter. This Order also combats ideologies that seek to divide our Armed Forces by race, sex, or other immutable characteristics, tearing at cohesion and military effectiveness.”
On Friday, the U.S. Senate narrowly confirmed Hegseth in a 50-50 vote, granting him the authority to implement a comprehensive MAGA agenda within the Pentagon. That same day, Kristi Noem was confirmed to lead the DHS. She will oversee the dismantling of DEI initiatives within agencies such as the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
