Trump Rally Attendees Report Mysterious Illness Following Event

Several individuals who attended former President Donald Trump’s rally in Tucson, Arizona, on September 12 have reported an unusual eye condition in the days following the event.

According to Newsweek, after the rally, which attracted more than 2,000 participants, some attendees sought medical treatment at local emergency rooms.

The Trump campaign has acknowledged the incident and is investigating the matter. Meanwhile, the Secret Service told News 4 Tucson that it found no signs of anything out of the ordinary at the rally and was unaware of any specific threats targeting Trump in Arizona.

At the rally, 48 special guests were positioned on stage alongside Trump, split into two groups—one on the right side of the stage and the other on the left.

While those on the left side of the stage reported no issues, several attendees from the right side experienced severe eye discomfort, News 4 Tucson reported.

Mayra Rodriguez, a former Planned Parenthood director turned Trump supporter, shared with News 4 Tucson that her eyes burned and her vision became impaired during the rally. She visited the ER, where medical staff asked if she had been exposed to any chemicals.

Rodriguez stated that her symptoms have persisted days after the event. “I can’t see anything. When I try to open my eyes, it’s like a white cloud of cover. It hurts,” she explained.

Another woman, who preferred to remain anonymous, described her experience as: “This is horrible.”

A man who also wished to stay anonymous shared with reporters, “My eyes were red like hell; it was terrible; I just couldn’t handle it.”

Kathleen Winn, a former Congressional candidate from Arizona’s 6th District, spoke to News 4 Tucson following the event. She commented: “We hope there’s no nefarious actors in this and this is not a strategic hit.”

Arizona, which has become a key battleground in recent elections, currently shows Trump holding a narrow lead in the polls, according to Newsweek.

This latest incident follows a series of potential threats against Trump and his supporters at events. In July, a rally attendee was killed, and two others critically injured, when a bullet grazed the former president's right ear during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

Just this Sunday, the Secret Service thwarted another assassination attempt at Trump’s golf course in Palm Beach, Florida, while he was playing a round with a prominent business figure.

Additionally, Trump had to cancel a planned campaign appearance in Brooklyn, New York, following the sudden death of a local restaurant owner.

The visit to Gottlieb’s Restaurant had been scheduled, and both local media and supporters were anticipating it. However, the appearance was canceled due to the unexpected passing of the restaurant’s 75-year-old owner, Sholem Yosef Gottlieb, as confirmed by police to PIX11 News.

Secret Service agents had inspected the establishment earlier in the week to ensure it met security requirements for Trump’s visit. “It’s upsetting, community was looking [forward] to seeing him over here,” Moses Weiser, a family friend of the Gottliebs, shared with NBC New York.

This cancellation comes as Trump maintains his national lead, despite a surge in Democratic support following Vice President Kamala Harris’s entry into the race.
