Trump Removes Secret Service Protection For Hunter, Ashley Biden

President Donald Trump announced on Monday that the adult children of former President Joe Biden will no longer receive Secret Service protection.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump pointed out that Hunter Biden had been under Secret Service protection for an “extended period of time.”
“There are as many as 18 people on this Detail, which is ridiculous!” Trump stated. “Please be advised that, effective immediately, Hunter Biden will no longer receive Secret Service protection.”
Ashley Biden, Hunter’s sister, will also lose her security detail. According to Fox News, Trump highlighted that 13 agents had been assigned to her protection.
“We are aware of the President’s decision to terminate protection for Hunter and Ashley Biden,” the Secret Service informed Fox News Digital. “The Secret Service will comply and is actively working with the protective details and the White House to ensure compliance as soon as possible.”
Federal law grants lifetime Secret Service protection to former presidents and their spouses, but security coverage for immediate family members over the age of 16 typically ends once the president leaves office. However, both Trump and Biden extended this protection for their children for six months beyond their terms, as reported by the Associated Press.
Additionally, Biden allowed Barron Trump to continue receiving protection after turning 16, the AP noted.
In his Truth Social post, Trump also mentioned that Biden was vacationing in South Africa, a nation facing scrutiny from the U.S. government due to its land expropriation policy, which permits land seizures without compensation. Trump criticized South Africa for its alignment with Iran and the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas, asserting that the policy unfairly targets White landowners.
“Because of this, South Africa has been taken off our list of Countries receiving Economic and Financial Assistance,” Trump wrote.
Last week, Secretary of State Marco Rubio declared that South Africa’s ambassador to the U.S. “is no longer welcome” in the country. During a Friday webinar, Ebrahim Rasool addressed the Trump administration’s stance on diversity, equity programs, and immigration, accusing the U.S. president of promoting “white supremacy.”
“The supremacist assault on incumbency, we see it in the domestic politics of the U.S.A., the MAGA movement, the Make America Great Again movement, as a response not simply to a supremacist instinct, but to very clear data that shows great demographic shifts in the U.S.A. in which the voting electorate in the U.S.A. is projected to become 48% white,” Rasool stated.
Rubio condemned Rasool as a “race-baiting” South African politician who opposes Trump, further declaring him “persona non grata” in the United States.
Three months into his second term, President Donald Trump has achieved the highest approval rating of his presidency. Additionally, according to a new NBC News poll released on Sunday, more Americans believe the country is on the right track than at any point since 2004.
However, Trump has yet to gain support from a majority of Americans. The poll found that 54% of respondents disapprove of his economic policies, marking the first time he has lost majority approval on this issue in NBC’s surveys.
“Even so, the survey found that voters generally feel Trump is bringing ‘the right kind of change’ on the key issues — even tariffs,” the New York Post noted, citing the NBC poll. “More Americans support his changes to trade policy (41%) than oppose them (38%), according to NBC.”
Overall, 47% of voters approve of Trump’s performance, while 51% disapprove, marking his highest rating in the poll’s history.
When it comes to inflation, NBC’s findings indicate that Trump is receiving some leniency from voters. The poll revealed that 40% believe his policies are having a positive effect, 30% feel they are negatively impacting the economy, and 28% say his policies have made no difference, The Post reported.
