Trump Reveals If He Will Do A Second Debate With Harris

Former President Donald Trump hinted on Wednesday morning that he may opt out of a second debate against Vice President Kamala Harris.

During a phone interview on Fox & Friends, Trump criticized ABC News, accusing the first debate moderators, David Muir and Linsey Davis, of being biased against him while allowing Harris to avoid serious scrutiny on her points.

Host Steve Doocy asked Trump if he would consider Fox News’ offer to host a second debate with Harris in October.

"Mr. President, I know you mentioned earlier in the interview that you believe you won the debate last night," Doocy said. "Before the debate, the Kamala Harris team had expressed interest in holding another debate in October. Last night, Fox News extended an offer to both campaigns, suggesting three possible dates for debates moderated by Martha MacCallum and Bret Baier, with the first proposed for October 9th in Arizona.”

Trump responded, “Well, I wouldn’t want Martha and Bret. I’d prefer someone else. Honestly, I’d love to have Sean [Hannity], Jesse [Watters], or Laura [Ingraham] moderate. You know, give others a chance.”

He elaborated further, “I didn’t think Martha and Bret did a great job last night. But Jesse, he was fantastic. Jesse said after the debate that we won it by a lot. And honestly, I wouldn’t want Martha involved.”

Trump then suggested he might not participate in a second debate at all.

“When two fighters go head-to-head and one loses, the first thing they do is ask for a rematch, or in this case, another debate. It’s what happens when someone loses—they ask for a rematch. So, they lost badly, and now they’re asking for another debate. But I won the debate according to C-SPAN, and multiple polls. I think there were 14 polls, all showing I won,” Trump claimed.

Doocy followed up, “So, it sounds like you’re undecided about doing another debate?”

Trump admitted he wasn’t eager for a second debate.

“I’d be less inclined to do another one. We had a great night, we won the debate, but the network was terrible. They should be ashamed. They kept correcting me when I was mostly right, or at least hoped I was, but what they said was completely wrong. And as for Harris, she wasn’t corrected at all. I even brought it up a few times, asking why they weren’t fact-checking her. She made several false claims, like the one about Project 2025, which has nothing to do with me, and they let it slide,” Trump said.

He added, “I’m not inclined to debate again because I won, but let’s let things settle and see what happens.”

Brian Kilmeade, another host on the show, jumped in to defend his colleagues. “I’ll just say this—I think Bret and Martha would do a phenomenal job. They wouldn’t sideline important topics like inflation, and I think you’d find them extremely fair. You’ve worked with them before,” Kilmeade said.
