Trump Revokes Biden’s Security Clearance, Daily Intel Briefings: ‘JOE, YOU’RE FIRED’

President Donald Trump took action on Friday against former President Joe Biden in what appears to be political retribution.

Through a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump declared that Biden would no longer receive daily intelligence briefings, citing concerns over the former president’s mental state as a national security risk. Additionally, Biden’s security clearance has been revoked.

“There is no need for Joe Biden to continue receiving access to classified information. Therefore, we are immediately revoking Joe Biden’s Security Clearances, and stopping his daily Intelligence Briefings,” Trump stated, pointing out that Biden had made a similar move against him after assuming office.

“He set this precedent in 2021, when he instructed the Intelligence Community (IC) to stop the 45th President of the United States (ME!) from accessing details on National Security, a courtesy provided to former Presidents,” Trump continued.

“The Hur Report revealed that Biden suffers from ‘poor memory’ and, even in his ‘prime,’ could not be trusted with sensitive information. I will always protect our National Security — JOE, YOU’RE FIRED. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!” he added.

Special Counsel Robert Hur’s investigation into Biden’s handling of classified materials noted frequent memory lapses, contradicting Biden’s previous assertions.

During a congressional hearing in March, Hur testified that Biden appeared to have retained classified documents due to “pride and money” motivations. However, Hur did not pursue criminal charges, as reported by Fox News.

Meanwhile, Federal Election Commission Chairwoman Ellen Weintraub refused to vacate her position on Thursday after receiving a dismissal letter from Trump. Weintraub publicly shared the letter and claimed the action was not legally enforceable.

“Received a letter from POTUS today purporting to remove me as Commissioner & Chair of @FEC,” Weintraub wrote on X. “There’s a legal way to replace FEC commissioners—this isn’t it. I’ve been lucky to serve the American people & stir up some good trouble along the way. That’s not changing anytime soon.”

Weintraub included an image of the letter in her post. “You are hereby removed as a Member of the Federal Election Commission, effective immediately,” the White House letter dated Jan. 31 stated. “Thank you for your service on the Commission.”

Weintraub is one of three Democrats on the FEC, alongside two Republicans, with one seat currently vacant.

The move was met with swift criticism from Democrats. Shortly after Weintraub’s post, Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) reacted, stating:

“Trump’s political purge continues with this illegal dismissal of Democrat Ellen Weintraub from the FEC,” he wrote on X.

Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency has been leading significant government restructuring efforts aimed at reducing federal spending. Many expect widespread job cuts in the coming months as part of these reforms.

Additionally, tensions escalated this week when two Democratic lawmakers, Reps. Judy Chu (D-Calif.) and Gwen Moore (D-Wisc.), entered House Speaker Mike Johnson’s office unexpectedly to challenge him over Musk’s access to a Treasury Department payment system.

Their entry occurred shortly after Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent arrived at the office to discuss the administration’s tax agenda amid mounting Democratic criticism of Musk’s budget reductions.

Moore later stated that Bessent was not present when she and Chu confronted Johnson, as reported by Politico.

“Gwen Moore forced her way in there, and then I got to go in right behind her,” Chu told reporters. “And she was already confronting Speaker Johnson about Treasury Secretary Bessent and the stealing of Americans’ private information, tax information that should never be stolen and given to this billionaire Elon Musk.”

Musk’s team currently maintains “read-only” access to the system.
