Trump Shares Incredibly Rare Emotional Moment On Stage At RNC

Former President Donald Trump, visibly emotional, made an unexpected appearance at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee on Monday evening.

While Trump's main address is planned for Thursday evening, he showed up early, just over 48 hours after narrowly escaping an assassination attempt at a campaign rally in western Pennsylvania. Sporting a white bandage on his arm, the former president appeared more somber than his usual energetic self when he appeared on the arena jumbotron.

Country artist Lee Greenwood introduced Trump and delivered a live rendition of “God Bless The USA” as the leading presidential candidate arrived.

Trump entered the room to enthusiastic chants of “we love Trump” and “USA,” clearly showing his emotions. Before joining his new running mate, Senator J.D. Vance (R-OH), he took time to greet his family members and key supporters, including Tucker Carlson and Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL), with handshakes.

“Prayer works. This nation based on faith, prayer works. Because he was sure as Donald Trump turned his head just slightly that the bullet missed him just enough to save his life to be the next President of the United States. We have believed for so long that God will make some changes in this country, and he’s about to make a change in the current administration and send them home,” Greenwood said while introducing the former president.

“Thank you everybody for being here tonight. Tonight we make the decision on what’s right for America: more prosperity, lower gas prices, lower food prices, help for our veterans, and God bless our military wherever they are in this United States. And abroad, there would be no war if there wasn’t anyone. President Trump was president, and he would have been president of the United States, Donald J. Trump.”

The audience's chants of “we love Trump!” continued throughout the following speaker’s address, with applause lingering long after they had finished speaking.

On Thursday, the former president is expected to deliver his main speech. After the assassination attempt, he reportedly revised his address from the original plan.
