Trump, known for his branding prowess, is clearly setting the stage for high viewership.
While the speech is not officially a State of the Union address—since he has been in office for just six weeks—it is expected to follow a similar structure, highlighting his administration’s early accomplishments and outlining key legislative goals for the year.
According to Article II, Section 3 of the U.S. Constitution, the president must “from time to time give to the Congress Information of the State of the Union, and recommend to their Consideration such Measures as he shall judge necessary and expedient.”
House Speaker Mike Johnson extended the invitation to Trump in a formal letter, stating, “Your administration and the 119th Congress working together have the chance to make these next four years some of the most consequential in our nation’s history.”
Speaking with Fox News host Maria Bartiromo over the weekend, Johnson said, “President Trump is coming in — a triumphant return to Congress to address us as the president once again, and in the first month of office, he’s accomplished so much, that it could fill three hours.”
He continued, “President Trump has such a long series of victories, things that he has done, promises he has kept, and it is putting America back on a strong footing, and we can’t wait to welcome him back to the chamber.”

One of the major topics Trump is expected to cover is his push for “one big beautiful bill” to extend the tax reductions from the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.
Additionally, Trump has proposed eliminating taxes on tips, overtime, and Social Security income. He also aims to reduce the corporate tax rate from 21% to 15% for companies that manufacture products domestically.
His speech will likely touch on tariff policies, a potential funding mechanism for his new tax initiatives.
Another highlight will undoubtedly be the record-low illegal border crossings in February, marking the lowest levels ever recorded in U.S. history.
The Biden regime invited every corner of the world to invade our wide open Southern border, inviting a flood of crime, drugs, and human trafficking into our country.

Trump’s promise to “tell it like it is” suggests he may also address issues of government corruption and waste, particularly findings from the Department of Government Efficiency under Elon Musk.
Additionally, he is expected to comment on the intense exchange that took place Friday during Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s White House visit, where a rare earth minerals agreement was on the table.
By setting high expectations for Tuesday’s address, Trump is undoubtedly preparing to make headlines.
