Trump Stuns Everyone With Unexpected News About Elon Musk

During his address to a joint session of Congress, President Donald Trump reinforced his dedication to a future Mars mission.

Referring directly to businessman Elon Musk, Trump declared on Tuesday night that his administration will “plant the American flag on the planet Mars and even far beyond.”

“We are going to lead humanity into space and plant the American flag on the planet Mars, and even far beyond,” Trump repeated, mirroring a theme he had already highlighted in his inaugural speech.

Musk’s aerospace company, SpaceX, builds rockets. While Musk has long pushed for the development of spacecraft capable of reaching Mars, the U.S. government has largely been focused on returning astronauts to the moon.

Republican lawmakers in attendance rose to applaud Musk before Trump turned his attention to examples of excessive government spending.

“The brand new Department of Government Efficiency, DOGE, perhaps you’ve heard of it,” Trump said in his remarks. “Which is headed by Elon Musk, who is in the gallery tonight? Thank you Elon.”

After the applause from the Republican side, Trump took a swipe at Democrats, adding, “He’s working very hard. He didn’t need this. He didn’t need this. Thank you very much. We appreciate it. Everybody here, even this side, appreciates that I believe. They just don’t want to admit it.”

“Just listen to some of the appalling waste,” Trump stated. “We have already identified $22 Billion. From HHS to provide free housing and cars for illegal aliens, $45 million for diversity, equity, and inclusion scholarships in Burma. $40 million to improve the social and economic inclusion of sedentary migrants. Nobody knows what that is.”

He continued, “$8 million to Promote LGBTQI plus in the African nation of Lesotho, which nobody has ever heard of. $60 million for indigenous peoples and Afro-Colombian empowerment in Central America. $60 million. $8 million for making mice transgender. This is real. $32 million for a left wing propaganda operation in Moldova. $10 million for male circumcision in Mozambique. $20 million for the Arab Sesame Street in the Middle East.”

Trump concluded, “And there are far worse. But I didn’t think it was appropriate to talk about them. They’re so bad. Many more have been found out and exposed and swiftly terminated by a group of very intelligent, mostly young people headed up by Elon, and we appreciate it.”

Barely a month into his presidency, Trump is already accelerating his mission to frustrate and confront the left-wing establishment in Washington.

On Saturday, Trump praised Elon Musk’s work to uncover wasteful government programs in a post on social media. For many Democrats, Musk has already become one of their biggest political adversaries.

Trump then urged Musk to ramp up his efforts.

“ELON IS DOING A GREAT JOB, BUT I WOULD LIKE TO SEE HIM GET MORE AGGRESSIVE,” Trump wrote on Truth Social, staying true to his signature all-caps style. “REMEMBER, WE HAVE A COUNTRY TO SAVE, BUT ULTIMATELY, TO MAKE GREATER THAN EVER BEFORE. MAGA!”

Musk’s reply likely made things even worse for liberals.

He posted, “Will do, Mr. President!” on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.

Trump is going after every facet of the progressive agenda—from illegal immigration to foreign affairs and energy policy. He has assigned Musk to spearhead the review and removal of wasteful spending across federal agencies.

After winning a legal battle on Tuesday, Musk and his team at the Department of Government Efficiency secured access to crucial financial records from numerous government agencies. At the same time, a member of the DOGE task force is preparing to review records related to the Internal Revenue Service.
