Trump Town Hall Halted Due to Multiple Medical Emergencies

A town hall event featuring former President Donald Trump was cut short on Monday evening after several medical incidents occurred in the audience.

The event was held in Oaks, Pennsylvania, located in Montgomery County, around 25 miles northwest of Philadelphia. It took place at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center and Fairgrounds, where the enclosed space, packed with attendees, became uncomfortably warm.

Both Trump and South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem, who was moderating, commented on the heat throughout the shortened event.

According to NBC News, the Trump campaign estimated the crowd size to be between 5,000 and 6,000 people.

At one point, Trump inquired about the air conditioning situation at the venue.

“They probably can’t afford it, sir, in this economy,” Noem remarked, as reported by The Associated Press.

The first medical emergency reportedly occurred about 30 minutes into the event, with one individual being placed on a stretcher, according to ABC.

As this unfolded, the crowd spontaneously began singing “God Bless America.” Trump also requested that “Ave Maria” be played while the individual was attended to.

Shortly after, a second medical incident occurred.

“Would anybody else like to faint?” Trump quipped.

The Trump campaign later informed The Philadelphia Inquirer that three individuals were transported from the expo center to a nearby hospital. Their conditions were not disclosed, the paper added.

Trump suggested opening the doors for better ventilation, but was informed that it couldn't be done for security reasons.

“Open the doors. I wish we could open those doors to outside,” Trump remarked. “For security reasons, they can’t. But you know what I suggest? Open them. Because anybody comes through those doors, you know what’s going to happen to them.”

Despite the situation, Trump found humor in the heat.

“Personally, I enjoy this. We lose weight, you know. No, you lose weight. We could do this — lose four or five pounds,” Trump joked.

After the second medical emergency, Trump declared that the Q&A portion of the event was over.

“Let’s not do any more questions. Let’s just listen to music. Let’s make it into a music fest. Who the hell wants to hear questions right? Isn’t that beautiful?” he said.

As music played for about 40 minutes, the crowd gradually began to leave.

“To lighten the mood, President Trump turned the town hall into an impromptu concert and the crowd loved it,” Trump campaign press secretary Karoline Leavitt said. She added, “The room was full of joy.”

Leavitt emphasized the concern for attendees, stating, “The safety and well-being of President Trump’s supporters is always his top priority. The two individuals who fainted were immediately given medical attention. As President Trump said tonight, they are great patriots.”

During the event, Trump reiterated his message, saying, “We represent the party of common sense. We want rules. We want good education. We want low interest rates. We want jobs. And you know what? We want a strong military,” as noted by The Philadelphia Inquirer.
