Trump Unleashes on Robert De Niro After Disastrous Biden Campaign Event
Robert De Niro was spotted outside the Manhattan courtroom where former President Donald Trump is facing 34 felony counts related to falsifying business records. Predictably, Trump had a few words to share about the actor’s presence.
Trump criticized De Niro’s involvement in President Joe Biden’s campaign—a move that seemingly didn’t achieve the desired impact for Biden.
“I never knew how small, both mentally and physically, Wacko Former Actor Robert De Niro was,” Trump posted early Wednesday morning on Truth Social.
“Today, De Niro, who suffers from an incurable case of TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME, commonly known in the medical community as TDS, was met, outside the Courthouse, with a force far greater than the Radical Left – MAGA. Robert, whose movies, artistry, and brand have gone WAY DOWN IN VALUE since he entered the political arena at the request of Crooked Joe Biden, looked so pathetic and sad out there,” he added emphatically.
“Where have you gone Joe DiMaggio!!!” Trump concluded, alluding to the Simon & Garfunkel song that laments the loss of past heroes.
Trump wasn’t the only one on social media to criticize the Biden campaign’s stunt outside the courthouse, which seemed to contradict the president’s repeated assertions of impartiality regarding Trump’s legal issues.
Washington Times columnist Tim Murtaugh shared a video where De Niro’s speech was drowned out by a car horn.
“Nothing says ‘this isn’t political’ like the Biden campaign sending one of the most political movie stars in Hollywood to hold an embarrassing press conference outside the Trump trial,” he commented. “The beeping horn car alarm is just the cherry on top.”
Biden’s claims of neutrality were further questioned when the campaign chose De Niro, known for his harsh criticisms of Trump, and Capitol police officers Michael Fanone and Harry Dunn, who have publicly supported the “insurrection” narrative about the January 6 Capitol breach, as its “special guests.”
“Everything about what the Biden campaign did this morning was absolutely hilarious,” conservative commentator Greg Price wrote on X. “They spent the whole thing getting drowned out by Trump supporters yelling ‘FJB’ and they had to answer questions such as ‘is Trump a threat to all these wars Biden has gotten us in.’”
CBS News correspondent Matt Pieper posted a video of De Niro and Trump supporters exchanging insults.
Fox News described the De Niro press conference as “chaotic,” while the New York Post called it “bizarre.”
Ultimately, it was Trump who seemed to have the final say on Truth Social—unless De Niro decides to reactivate his X (formerly Twitter) account, which he set up in 2014 but has only used once.
