Trump's Golf Star Granddaughter Reveals the Most Embarrassing Thing He Ever Did to Her
This writer can’t relate, but he’s heard that being a teenage girl isn’t easy.
This writer can’t relate to this either, but it’s been said that being a Trump isn’t a walk in the park.
Now, imagine those two worlds intersecting.
Kai Trump, granddaughter of President-elect Donald Trump, embodies that scenario perfectly and recently shared how challenging — and occasionally mortifying — it can be.
The 17-year-old, daughter of Don Jr., has been gaining attention since her well-received speech at the 2024 RNC.
(Though not everyone agreed — “The View” co-host Whoopi Goldberg criticized the heartfelt address.)
As part of her growing public presence, Kai — a future Miami Hurricane who plans to play golf — has launched a rapidly expanding YouTube channel. Her videos offer a behind-the-scenes look at her and her grandfather’s non-political lives.
On Tuesday, Kai posted a Q&A video on her channel, answering questions from viewers, some of which inevitably revolved around her famous grandfather.
You can watch the full episode below:
“My most embarrassing moment with my grandpa is, I brought one of my guy friends to play golf, and [Donald] goes like, ‘Oh my God, look, like, how handsome your boyfriend is,’ and all that.
“And I got so embarrassed because he [had] a girlfriend. That was just awkward.
“That was my most embarrassing moment ever.”
Kai also started to recount another embarrassing moment involving her grandfather when she introduced him to a boy she liked, but she cut the story short.
“We don’t have to talk about that,” she said.
From just this clip, it’s evident that Kai Trump has inherited two notable traits from her grandfather.
First, her love for golf is unmistakable, as seen in her story and her college plans. She even suggested making their shared passion a friendly competition for the public to enjoy.
“I think we should do a match,” Kai said. “Straight up stroke play. I’ll challenge him on his home turf.”
Donald Trump, an avid golf enthusiast and player, has clearly passed on his passion to his family.
When asked who the better golfer was, Kai diplomatically replied, “50/50,” explaining that her answer was out of “respect” for her grandfather.
Kai has also inherited her grandfather’s playful sense of humor.
Reading a question from her dad, she said, “My dad asks, ‘How awesome is your dad? Love dad.’”
With a grin, she quipped, “Um, he’s alright. I mean, I don’t know, he’s OK.”
She quickly added, “No, I love you a lot, dad.”
