Trump’s Incoming Chief of Staff Susie Wiles Shares His Day One Agenda: Report

According to reports, President-elect Donald Trump’s second term will kick off by reinstating some elements of his first, as described by Susie Wiles, Trump’s incoming White House Chief of Staff.

The New York Times, citing unnamed sources, reported that Wiles discussed Trump’s plans during a recent Rockbridge Network meeting, a gathering of conservative donors. Although Wiles did not specify which executive orders might be reissued, she suggested Trump would restore some that were rescinded by President Joe Biden—particularly in areas such as immigration.

Wiles emphasized that while Trump’s term will span four years, the real opportunity for structural government change may be limited to just two years, given the historical trend of mid-term losses in Congress. However, the GOP currently holds both the House and Senate.

During a Q&A session, Wiles also mentioned Trump’s intention to continue holding his well-known rallies. She clarified that his final campaign event was "not the last Donald Trump rally, but it was the last Donald Trump campaign rally."

When asked about the volume of executive orders Trump might issue, national press secretary Karoline Leavitt responded over the weekend, “There will be tens of them. I can assure you of that,” per the Associated Press.

Trump has previously indicated he would consider pardoning some individuals involved in the January 6, 2021, Capitol incident, stating, “I am inclined to pardon many of them,” while acknowledging that some individuals “probably got out of control.”

Additionally, Trump has pledged to impose tariffs on imported goods, primarily targeting China. He intends to tie this tariff policy to immigration control, asserting, “We’re being invaded by Mexico.” Referring to Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum, Trump vowed to warn her that failure to stem the flow of “criminals and drugs” would result in “a 25 percent tariff on everything they send into the United States.”

On his first day, Trump has also committed to initiating deportations of illegal immigrants and reforming federal workforce policies.
