Trump's Lawyer Goes Public After Biden's Fake White House Set Is Found

If you needed one last reminder of just how unfit President Joe Biden was while in office, one of President Donald Trump’s lawyers recently went viral by exposing the former president’s artificial “Oval Office” — and the reason it was necessary.

In a video shared on X Tuesday afternoon, attorney Alina Habba took a quick 30-second walk through the stage set up in the Old Executive Office Building, where many of Biden’s press appearances were held.

The reason? A massive teleprompter to guide his every move.

“We’re in Biden’s fake Oval Office, everybody!” Habba announced in the video.

“And I’ve actually figured this out. I now know why. I now get it. Turn the camera around,” she continued.

Then, the big reveal: “There is a screen, a teleprompter to the face. All I can say is, the last administration was a disgratz,” she added.

Chances are, you’ve seen this setting before — though never with Trump in it.

This wasn’t exactly a secret. It’s just something Biden’s team would have preferred the media not dwell on. And, like obedient Cavalier King Charles spaniels, the press largely sat in the Biden administration’s lap, receiving their pats and scratches from the president’s handlers.

Every now and then, however, these lapdogs would momentarily misbehave and “pee on the fake Oval Office carpet” — like Politico did in May 2022, when they reported on the increasing likelihood of a Biden-Trump rematch, even though “neither side wants to move first.”

“President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump have both told aides and confidants that they’re more likely to run for the White House next cycle — and confident in their chances of winning — if the other runs, too. But as each camp gears up for a rematch of the bitterly contested 2020 contest, there remains a small hiccup: Neither is inclined to take the plunge first,” wrote Politico’s Jonathan Lemire and Meridith McGraw.

For Trump, it was clear to any observant political follower that he intended to run again. Politico acknowledged that he was “hesitant to announce soon, because once he does he would be restricted in how he could utilize and coordinate with certain political committees tied to him.”

For Biden, however, the situation was trickier, largely due to “intraparty concerns about his age — on Election Day 2024 he will be just shy of 82 — and shaky poll numbers.”

That much was obvious, but the article also dropped interesting tidbits, such as how “some allies and Democrats privately worry that Biden may not be able to handle the rigors of another campaign.” Turns out, those concerns were right on the money — and they also explained the need for the fake Oval Office.

“A bone he broke in his foot while playing with his dog in late November 2020 still occasionally bothers Biden, resulting in a slower and shorter gait. And the White House has largely abandoned using the Oval Office for press events in part because it can’t be permanently equipped with a teleprompter,” Politico reported.

“Biden aides prefer the fake White House stage built in the Old Executive Office Building next door for events, sacrificing some of the power of the historic backdrop in favor of an otherwise sterile room that was outfitted with an easily read teleprompter screen.”

Lapdogs will occasionally soil the rug, even in a carefully controlled environment designed for an aging leader to read from a screen. At least they didn’t damage the equipment—otherwise, he would have been in serious trouble.

If this were a Republican administration, White House reporters would have been stationed outside the fake Oval Office around the clock, breathlessly covering a “crisis of confidence” at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. Instead, they largely ignored it—until Alina Habba brought it back into the spotlight, reminding us all of the carefully managed figurehead who occupied the presidency from January 2021 to January 2025.

We were never meant to scrutinize this setup. And if Kamala Harris had won, we probably never would have. Funny how such things disappear from memory so conveniently.
