Tucker Carlson Secures Top Spot in Apple’s 2024 Podcast Rankings
Tucker Carlson, the former Fox News host, has earned the title of “top new” podcast of 2024, as revealed by Apple’s year-end podcast charts.
According to Mediaite, Apple’s overall top five podcasts for the year included The Daily, Crime Junkie, The Joe Rogan Experience, Dateline NBC, and SmartLess. These rankings highlight the diverse listening preferences on Apple’s platform, which spans across its ecosystem of devices.
Meanwhile, Spotify’s podcast rankings painted a slightly different picture. Joe Rogan’s show continued its reign as the platform’s most popular podcast, bolstered by a $250 million multiyear contract signed earlier this year. Notably, this deal ended Rogan’s exclusivity with Spotify, broadening his audience reach. On Spotify’s charts, Carlson’s podcast, hosted by the controversial ex-Fox anchor, claimed the number three position. Carlson first introduced his podcast on X in June 2023.
Apple’s top five “new” podcasts for 2024 featured The Tucker Carlson Show, Three, Mortal Sin, Drowning Creek, and The Rise and Fall of Ruby Franke. Among his achievements, Carlson’s episode titled “Calley & Casey Means: The Truth About Ozempic, the Pill, and How Big Pharma Keeps You Sick” was the most-shared podcast episode of the year. Following closely, Joe Rogan’s interview with Donald Trump secured second place, while Crime Junkie’s “SERIAL KILLER: The Alphabet Murders Part 1” was the year’s most-listened-to episode.
A Startling Encounter with the Supernatural
In a recent interview, Carlson recounted an unsettling and life-changing encounter with what he described as a “demon.” He claimed the experience occurred while he was asleep at home, alongside his wife and their four dogs.
“It was a transformative experience,” Carlson explained. “I got attacked while I was asleep… and mauled. Physically mauled by a demon or by something unseen that left claw marks on my sides.”
The podcast host revealed that even a year and a half later, the marks remain visible. “I woke up. I couldn’t breathe. I thought I was going to suffocate,” he shared. “I had these terrible pains on my rib cage and on my shoulder.”
Upon inspecting his injuries, Carlson recounted finding “four claw marks on either side, underneath my arms and on my left shoulder. And they were bleeding.”
Carlson admitted he was initially perplexed by the event. “I’m not from a world where things like that happen,” he emphasized. “But I knew it was spiritual immediately.”
The experience sparked a profound spiritual journey for Carlson. “I was seized with this very intense desire to read the Bible, which I then started without any study aids or anything,” he said. Over the next year and a half, Carlson read and reread the Bible, describing it as a “transformative experience.”
He concluded his account by saying, “No one has to believe me. I don’t care. But that happened to me.”
Rod Dreher, a noted Orthodox Christian and author of The Benedict Option, corroborated Carlson’s story on X. “Tucker Carlson has gone public with the news that he was physically attacked by a demon,” Dreher wrote. “This is true. He told me about it a year ago. Terrifying stuff.”
Carlson’s Meteoric Podcast Success
After formally launching earlier this year, The Tucker Carlson Show quickly climbed Spotify’s charts, reaching the No. 1 position. With his mix of provocative content and gripping personal stories, Carlson continues to resonate with a broad and growing audience.
