Unusual Moment Caught in Mar-a-Lago Photo with Trump and Trudeau
Observers have spotted an amusing detail in a recently shared photo featuring Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and President-elect Donald Trump.
Captured at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago club last Friday, the pair—who have often been at odds—were all smiles after what was described as a “positive wide-ranging dinner.”
But eagle-eyed social media users noticed an unexpected addition to the picture: a young man humorously ‘photobombing’ the two leaders.
Positioned in the background, the boy struck a playful pose, raising his hands to his head and contorting his face into a cheeky expression.
Reactions poured in online, with one user joking: ‘He’s making photos great again!’ riffing on Trump’s iconic MAGA slogan.
Another chimed in: ‘What’s even more funny is that kid over Trump’s shoulder! Who cares about #JustinTrudeau? #MAGA #AmericaFirst #UniteAmerica.’
‘Even the kid at the table behind Trump is trolling Trudy!!’ someone added, while another declared: ‘10/10 photobomb from the lad! Kid chose to be an absolute legend.’
The image was shared by Pennsylvania Senator-elect Dave McCormack, who posted it on X (formerly Twitter) during his visit to the so-called ‘Winter White House.’
“Honored to have dinner with @realDonaldTrump and to celebrate two big wins in PA! Ready to join him in Washington to shake things up and fight for every single Pennsylvanian!” McCormack captioned his post.
Joining Trump and Trudeau at the dinner table were nominees for key positions: Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, National Security Advisor Mike Waltz, and Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum, who is also the governor of North Dakota.
According to a source, the three-hour conversation between Trump and Trudeau covered topics such as trade, border security, fentanyl, defense, Ukraine, NATO, China, and pipelines.
Despite past tensions between the conservative former president and the liberal prime minister, Trudeau seems eager to work with Trump as he eyes reelection in 2025. This comes even as Trump has threatened to impose steep tariffs on Canada and Mexico.
On Monday, Trump proposed on Truth Social a 25% import tax on both nations to push them toward reducing illegal immigration at the U.S. border.
Hours later, Trudeau reportedly called Trump to discuss border security and trade, and their conversation was described as positive.
Trudeau has expressed concern over Trump’s tariff threats. Speaking earlier this week, the Canadian prime minister said, “One of the things that is really important to understand is that Donald Trump, when he makes statements like that, he plans on carrying them out. There’s no question about it,” as reported by the Globe and Mail.
Trudeau warned that such tariffs could harm not only Canadian workers but also American consumers. “He’d actually be raising prices for American citizens as well and hurting American industry and businesses,” Trudeau said.
During his campaign, Trump frequently touted tariffs as a tool to achieve his goals with foreign nations. Critics, however, noted that such import taxes often lead to higher costs for consumers.
Trump’s proposed tariffs, which he claims would cover “ALL products coming into the United States,” are framed as a solution to what he calls the country’s “ridiculous Open Borders.”
“This Tariff will remain in effect until such time as Drugs, in particular Fentanyl, and all Illegal Aliens stop this Invasion of our Country!” Trump stated.
Following the dinner, Trudeau returned to his hotel without addressing reporters.
For Canada, any new tariffs would bring significant economic challenges.
