Video at Gas Station Shows What Candidate Black Voters Prefer; Their Choice Should Terrify Kamala Harris

Whether you lean towards the informal style of street conversations or the highbrow discourse found in The New York Times, one thing is evident: Vice President Kamala Harris can't rely on unwavering support from Black voters.

A recently shared video features several Black customers at a gas station being asked about their voting preferences.

Although the language isn't exactly suited for prime-time TV, the frustration with Harris is unmistakable, even more so than the occasional use of expletives.

Meanwhile, The New York Times took a more polished approach, but delivered the same message – many Black Americans are questioning their support for Democrats, particularly Harris.

According to a recent poll released by The Times, while Harris can take comfort in the fact that the majority of Black voters still support her, 40% of Black voters under 30 indicated that Republicans are more likely than Democrats to follow through on their promises. The poll surveyed 589 Black voters and has a margin of error of 5.6%.

“They toss us the table scraps like we’re trained dogs and say, ‘This is for you,’” said LaPage Drake, 63, of Cedar Hill, Texas.

“And we just clap like trained seals,” Drake added.

Drake acknowledged the criticisms leveled at former President Donald Trump, but he isn’t swayed by them.

“Regardless of what people say about him being racist, he’s for the country,” Drake remarked.

The poll also revealed that Trump’s support among Black voters stands at around 15%, an increase from an estimated 9% in 2020. Other polls have shown varying results; for example, an NAACP survey reported that Trump has 25% support among Black voters under 50, as noted by NPR.

In a New York Post Op-Ed, Adam B. Coleman expressed his reluctance to support Harris, despite former President Barack Obama’s suggestion that backing her is a form of Black solidarity.

“Kamala is a chameleon, willing to say or do whatever is necessary to climb the political ladder. She represents everything, which ultimately means she stands for nothing,” he wrote.

“Americans deserve a leader with true leadership qualities, but Kamala comes across as someone more focused on social climbing, rubbing elbows with the right people to get ahead,” Coleman added.

Coleman further criticized the Democratic Party, arguing that they expect loyalty without earning it.

“Democrats speak of equality for Black people, but they don’t offer us the same level of explanation or persuasion when asking for our votes,” he wrote.

“I refuse to cast my vote for a candidate I don’t believe in—someone who won’t provide clear answers to valid questions and instead relies on racial guilt to win my support,” he concluded.
