Video Of Trump And Musk Triggers CNN’s Jim Acosta: ‘Creepy’
CNN anchor Jim Acosta appeared deeply unsettled by a lighthearted video featuring President-elect Donald Trump and Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk.
The video clips showed the two men grooving to “Y.M.C.A.” by The Village People during Thanksgiving at Mar-a-Lago, a scene that seemed to rattle the liberal commentator.
“If you haven’t caught this clip yet of Elon Musk getting cozy with Donald Trump at Mar-a-Lago for Thanksgiving, where they were apparently chair-dancing to ‘Y.M.C.A.,’” Acosta remarked.
“There’s Elon Musk right next to him in his sweater,” he added. “This raises significant questions about Musk’s potential involvement in this new administration. Just this week, he’s been targeting federal employees on X. He’s gone after figures like Colonel Alexander Vindman, even accusing him of treason on X. And yet, he’s been granted a very prominent platform.”
On Wednesday, Vindman made unsubstantiated claims that Musk had shared state secrets with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Vindman suggested Musk supports the president-elect due to alleged directives from the Kremlin.
“Clearly, Putin has a type,” Vindman asserted. “He gravitates toward narcissists and egomaniacs whom he, as a case officer, can easily manipulate and pander to for his own agenda. We’re under attack. Russia has employed various tactics—corruption networks and, in this case, influencers like Donald Trump and Elon Musk—to sow discord.”
He continued, “It’s especially alarming in Musk’s case because he has access to state secrets and holds top-secret security clearance. There’s a possibility that some of this sensitive information is leaking. Putin has effectively played both Trump and Musk, using the world’s richest man to further his objectives.”
Musk fired back at Vindman, accusing him of treason.
“Vindman is funded by Ukrainian oligarchs and has committed treason against the United States. He will face the appropriate consequences,” Musk responded.
Musk’s bold actions haven’t been confined to X. When the social media platform faced criticism for being overly progressive, he purchased it and redirected its course.
Now, with reports emerging that MSNBC may be up for sale, speculation has swirled that Musk might intervene once again to influence media culture.
The buzz began when Wall Street Mav posted on X, formerly Twitter, claiming that MSNBC was on the market.
“Comcast is putting MSNBC up for sale. CNN just announced massive layoffs. Perhaps new owners will realize that lying non-stop to your audience is a terrible business model,” the post read.
Donald Trump Jr. joined the conversation, quoting the post and tagging Musk: “Hey @elonmusk, I have the funniest idea ever!!!”
Musk’s succinct response ignited a frenzy of speculation: “How much does it cost?”
This sparked a wave of reactions on X, with prominent figures, including podcaster Joe Rogan, chiming in. Many even joked about taking over Rachel Maddow’s position.
Trump Jr. added to the humor, replying, “I mean, it can’t be much. Look at the ratings.”
