Voters in Battleground Pennsylvania React to Biden's 'Garbage' Attack: 'That's What the Left Really Thinks of Us'

Trump voters, who have now been labeled “garbage” by the President of the United States, are openly expressing their disgust with Democrats.

On Tuesday, while trying to leverage a joke from a recent Trump rally, President Joe Biden reportedly commented, “The only garbage I see floating out there is his supporters,” as reported by CNN.

Vice President Kamala Harris distanced herself by saying that Biden had “clarified his comments,” which Biden and his aides later explained by claiming there was an implied, invisible apostrophe in “supporters”—unheard but supposedly appearing in the official White House transcript.

Voters, however, were not impressed.

“I think they’re desperate. It just shows the Democrats’ and Harris’s desperation,” remarked one Pennsylvania voter in a video shared on X.

“All the enthusiasm [is] behind Donald Trump and Republicans,” the voter added, drawing a comparison to when “Hillary Clinton called us deplorables.”

Another voter noted that being labeled “garbage” for holding conservative views felt “very demeaning.”

“If that’s what the left really thinks of us, then I think it’s disgusting,” a third voter said.

One woman simply stated, “To be called trash is degrading.”

At a rally in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, former President Donald Trump responded with a sharp rebuke: “You can’t be president if you hate the American people, and there’s a lot of hatred there,” according to The New York Times.

“For the past nine years, Kamala and her party have called us racists, bigots, fascists, deplorables, irredeemables, Nazis—and they’ve called me Hitler,” Trump continued.

“They’ve demeaned us, demonized us, and censored us,” he said.

In an editorial, the New York Post remarked that Biden’s comment seemed to reveal “out loud the quiet part of what most Democratic bigs believe.”

“And it’s not like Dem elites’ hatred of voters is new information,” the editorial argued. “Hillary had her ‘deplorables’ in 2016, and Dem messaging since has increasingly led with scolding and shaming anyone who dares to question their brilliance and wisdom.”
