Watch: Speculation About Kamala Being Drunk Erupts After Video to Supporters Goes Awry
Outgoing Vice President Kamala Harris sparked a social media frenzy with a peculiar video where some viewers claimed she appeared intoxicated.
Surprisingly, the clip was shared via the official X account of the Democratic Party, leading to speculation that it might have been a deliberate move to harm her reputation from within her own ranks.
The unusual video, posted Tuesday evening, showed a visibly downcast Harris attempting to rally her supporters after her crushing defeat by President-elect Donald Trump.
“I just have to remind you, don’t you ever let anybody take your power from you. You have the same power that you did before Nov. 5,” Harris stated.
“And you have the same purpose that you did. And you have the same ability to engage and inspire. So don’t ever let anybody or any circumstance take your power from you,” she continued.
While Harris avoided her typical “word salads,” her attempt to motivate supporters backfired, as she appeared defeated and despondent.
Adding fuel to the fire, some users on X speculated that she looked and sounded inebriated, sparking a wave of mocking reactions online.
Comedian Tim Young voiced the thoughts of many users, asking: “Why would the Democrats put this video out of a clearly drunk Kamala?? They want her career over.”
Memes and humorous takes flooded the platform, with some portraying Harris as a sorrowful figure slurring her speech.
Joking aside, many Americans are likely relieved that Kamala Harris was not reelected.
Her tenure as vice president coincided with surging illegal immigration, which many argue jeopardized public safety and weakened national security. For countless voters, another four years of what they viewed as chaotic border policies and high inflation seemed untenable.
Harris’ public image has often been associated with her frequent “word salads” and an unmistakable cackle during interviews. But as this chapter closes, supporters of the incoming administration look forward to a new start under Donald Trump in January.
