WH Advisor Makes Shocking Statement About Biden’s Mental Fitness
Concerns about President Joe Biden’s mental sharpness have resurfaced after a surprising undercover recording was released, showing that Biden struggles with basic communication and comprehension, as claimed by a White House National Security Council (NSC) advisor. The footage, shared by James O’Keefe’s O’Keefe Media Group, features Henry Appel, an NSC advisor from the Intelligence Programs Directorate, candidly discussing Biden’s cognitive challenges.
Appel’s remarks were unknowingly captured during a conversation with an undercover journalist and come amid increasing scrutiny of Biden following his reelection loss to VP Donald Trump.
“Joe Biden is, like, dead. Not literally,” Appel said in the hidden video. “Like, he can’t say a sentence.”
Appel recalled an incident where Biden appeared confused about the phrase “novel phenomenon,” interpreting it in a surprisingly literal way. “My boss said it, and Biden was just like, ‘What do you mean, like a book?’” According to Appel, Biden struggled to grasp the intended context of the term.

The advisor further recounted an awkward exchange with Biden during a foreign trip, where the president repeatedly called the NSC office within minutes, asking for National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan—despite Sullivan being with him on the trip.
“I picked up the phone and said, ‘Hello, Mr. President,’… and he asked for Jake [Sullivan]. After a brief exchange, Biden called me back 10 seconds later asking again, ‘Is Jake there?’” Appel explained. “I told him, ‘No, he’s traveling with you.’ He’s on the same trip that you are.”
These revelations add to ongoing concerns regarding Biden’s cognitive abilities. For years, Republicans and critics have raised alarms about Biden’s mental decline, citing moments of confusion in speeches, interviews, and public settings.
The conversation took an unexpected turn when Appel shared the emotional state of White House staff following Trump’s victory in the 2024 election. He described the team as being “trauma-bonded” due to fears of how the incoming administration might scrutinize their actions.
“We have a trauma bond,” Appel admitted. “There were a lot of tears. I need to find a new job.” He added, “We’re all a little worried about the Trump administration pursuing us as well.”
These remarks bolster speculation of internal turmoil within the White House following Trump’s decisive win. Trump made Biden’s mental acuity and the administration’s national security management central themes of his campaign, vowing to hold the Biden team accountable for perceived failures.
James O’Keefe, the conservative journalist behind the recording, is well known for his investigative work. Previously the founder of Project Veritas, O’Keefe is famous for conducting undercover stings to expose corruption, bias, and misconduct across politics, media, and other institutions.
After parting ways with Project Veritas in 2023, O’Keefe launched O’Keefe Media Group (OMG), continuing his signature undercover reporting and generating controversy through candid, unguarded recordings.
