WH Claims Biden, Harris Have ‘One Of The Most Successful’ Admins Despite 2024 Loss

The White House issued a statement asserting that the Biden-Harris administration ranks among the most successful in history. This statement came just weeks after President-elect Donald Trump decisively defeated Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 election.

Taking office during the COVID-19 pandemic and an economy described as “reeling,” President Biden and Vice President Harris focused on recovery. According to an email distributed Monday, their administration is being hailed as “one of the most successful administrations in history” and credited with leaving “the best economy in the world.”

The memo highlighted key achievements: “Under President Biden and Vice President Harris’ leadership, 16 million jobs have been created, and we’ve gotten women and people of color back in the labor force at record rates.” It also noted that 20 million new business applications were filed, while inflation was brought “down to near pre-pandemic levels.”

Furthermore, the White House credited “our success” to legislative achievements, including infrastructure rebuilding, record investments in climate action, reduced prescription drug costs, and fostering a “manufacturing renaissance.”

The document cited unnamed “business leaders” who described the U.S. economy as “among the best-performing economies” in decades.

However, some economic indicators tell a more complicated story. The Labor Department’s October jobs report revealed that only 12,000 jobs were added—significantly below projections of up to 120,000 and the lowest figure in four years. The unemployment rate remained steady at 4.1%, meeting expectations, but inflation remains a concern.

Fox News reported that inflation's cumulative effects have strained many Americans. The October consumer price index rose 2.6% year-over-year, reflecting a slight uptick amidst broader cooling trends.

Karoline Leavitt, the Trump campaign’s national press secretary, was quick to criticize: “This jobs report is a catastrophe and definitively reveals how badly Kamala Harris broke our economy.”

The election results underscored voter discontent with the Biden-Harris administration's policies. Trump secured 312 electoral votes to Harris’ 226, along with a popular vote margin exceeding 2 million.

The White House confirmed that President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden would attend President-elect Trump’s inauguration on January 20. Biden had pledged to participate regardless of the election's outcome. White House spokesperson Andrew Bates reaffirmed this commitment, stating, “He and the first lady are going to honor that promise and attend the inauguration. He views that as an important demonstration of commitment to our democratic values.”

Additionally, outgoing Chief of Staff Jeff Zients has been coordinating transition meetings with Susie Wiles, who is set to assume the role in the Trump administration.

After her decisive loss, Vice President Harris and Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff traveled to Hawaii for a brief vacation. However, insiders suggest she may already be planning her political comeback.

“She’s definitely going to try and run again,” a source told DailyMail.com, citing Harris’ resilience and ambition. Polls suggest she is currently the leading Democratic contender for the 2028 presidential nomination. A Puck News/Echelon Insights survey showed Harris with 41% support among Democrats, though 59% of respondents expressed interest in exploring other candidates.

Despite the mixed responses, Harris’ potential return highlights ongoing debates within the Democratic Party over its leadership and future direction.
