White House Document Leaks - Inside Official's Response Will Send a Shiver Down the Spine of Anyone Supporting Big Government
It looks like further substantial reductions to the federal government’s size are on the horizon.
On Thursday, The Washington Post reported that it had obtained an internal White House document outlining the Trump administration’s intentions to implement additional agency reductions.
According to the Post, the document referenced 22 federal agencies and was still in its preliminary stages, meaning that the listed reductions were not yet finalized.
Details from the document reportedly included a 50 percent reduction in the Department of Housing and Urban Development, a 25 percent cut to the Department of the Interior, and the elimination of about one-third of all employees at the Internal Revenue Service.
Additionally, the document indicated an 8 percent workforce reduction at the Department of Justice, a 28 percent cut at the National Science Foundation, a 30 percent decrease at the Commerce Department, and a 43 percent downsizing at the Small Business Administration.
Plans also detailed a 10 percent reduction at the Environmental Protection Agency and a 30 percent cut at the Treasury Department.
The Post’s report noted that these reductions include employees who opted for a deferred resignation offer, those dismissed due to probationary status, and individuals who were already planning to leave voluntarily.
“The document said firings would save the Education Department $6.1 billion, the Justice Department $1.9 billion, and HUD more than $1.2 million through fiscal 2026 and $800 million annually after three years,” as reported by the Post.
White House principal deputy press secretary Harrison Fields emphasized that the reductions mentioned in the document are not final and do not present an “accurate” depiction of the administration’s plans.
“It’s no secret the Trump administration is dedicated to downsizing the federal bureaucracy and cutting waste, fraud, and abuse. This document is a pre-deliberative draft and does not accurately reflect final reduction in force plans,” Fields stated.
The Post also claimed to have reviewed a draft document suggesting a reduction of 80,000 employees at the Department of Veterans Affairs.
If this information, which was reportedly updated as recently as Tuesday, aligns with the Trump administration’s actual plans, leftists are likely to respond with extreme outrage.
The Department of Government Efficiency, chaired by Elon Musk, has faced backlash for its efforts to eliminate waste, fraud, and abuse, leading to a wave of domestic attacks targeting Tesla owners in a bizarre and misguided attempt to harm Musk.
Tesla owners have reported incidents of vandalism, including keying and other damage to their vehicles, with perpetrators being arrested and charged with felony vandalism.
Some extremists have even resorted to firebombing Teslas—all because Musk and DOGE are focused on cutting government spending.
That said, the left’s outrage holds little significance.
Reducing the size of an overgrown federal government is long overdue.
