Wife of Tim Walz Mocked Over ‘Cringe’ Gesture During Speech

Gwen Walz, wife of Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, who is Vice President Kamala Harris' running mate, became the target of widespread mockery on social media after making what many called a "cringe" gesture at a campaign rally, encouraging the audience to "turn the page" from former President Donald Trump.

While in Wisconsin, Tim Walz delivered a speech alongside his wife, where he criticized Trump and urged voters to move beyond his candidacy in the upcoming election.

“So I’m going to be watching you because when I see Wisconsin, and I want to watch you nationally on TV because it’s been a pretty important place in Minnesota, help you practice with this,” Walz told the crowd. “You just show me this. Turn the page. Right. Turn the page. And you know what else that looks like?”

Trump's campaign wasted no time ridiculing the gesture, stating, "Gwen Walz is just as cringe as Tampon Tim," referencing the Minnesota governor’s controversial decision to allow tampons in boys' high school bathrooms for biological males identifying as girls.

Critics quickly took to social media to poke fun at the moment.

“If you thought Tim Walz was strange, check out his wife Gwen who stuck with Tim through his disgraceful IVF lie until they were exposed,” commentator Paul A. Szypula remarked.

Another user commented, “I cannot believe grown adults think this is acceptable. She’s talking to them like a kindergarten teacher.”

“When Minnesota was burning, she kept her windows open, she said, to enjoy the smell. She’s nuts,” another person tweeted.

The "Johnny Maga" account also chimed in, saying, “Tim Walz’s wife is the living embodiment of Trump Derangement Syndrome. She’s completely unhinged.”

Governor Walz has become a significant liability for Harris due to a series of controversies, including falsehoods he has told over the years, such as about a DUI arrest and his 24-year service in the Army National Guard.

Just last month, a resurfaced video of Walz added fuel to the fire, where the Democratic governor appeared to have exaggerated his military record, falsely claiming that he had been deployed to a combat zone.

In the C-SPAN video, then-U.S. Rep. Walz was addressing a Gold Star family during a hearing on PTSD. He stated that he had been deployed to Afghanistan in 2004 as part of Operation Enduring Freedom. Walz further claimed that troops under his command experienced mental health challenges and were shown "the horse whisperer" and instructed to "be nice" upon their return home.

“And both of you, with your keen understanding of how this works, especially from National Guard families, I can tell you this, having been one of those that came back, we were in support of OEF, but being — sitting in there with OEF, OIF veterans. When we came back, they showed us the horse whisperer and told us to be nice when we went home. And that was the extent of it,” Walz stated.

Walz served in both the Army and the Army National Guard for 24 years, but he never saw combat.

In fact, when his unit received orders to deploy to Iraq, Walz chose to retire rather than serve alongside them. This decision has drawn sharp criticism from figures like Sen. J.D. Vance, a Marine Corps veteran who did serve in Iraq, as well as senior enlisted personnel from Walz's former unit.
